One of my favorite HRPF fics of all time is hockey player Connor McDavid dating hot lawyer Leon Draisaitl and Connor’s in love with how normal Leon is. And how driven he is in other ways that aren’t a sport.
So, thinking about hockey player Michael Misa and non-hockey player Sam Dickinson. I want Sam to have like a really ‘real’ and high paying job. Something corporate where he’d have to wear at least a button up and slacks which he immediately sheds upon the end of the work day.
I think something in finance, something where all he does is sweet talk rich men into spending their money a certain way. He’s charismatic and convincing and has a charm about him that makes you want to do what he says.
He’s big and broad shouldered and takes working out way too seriously for someone who was an economics major and played rec league hockey. He went to like UCSD or something, and was in a frat, and met Mikey at a bar because the sharks won and the team was there getting laid but Mike was at a booth alone nursing an almost-empty beer.
Sam couldn’t let that slide, he had the prettiest eyes and lips he’d ever seen.
So Sam buys him a beer, a nice one, and chats him up. It’s not the first time a man has tried to pick Mike up, and it’s not even the first time they’ve succeeded, but it’s the first guy he’s been with since being on the team. Mike is naturally quiet and private, he keeps it to himself.
Toff knows ofc because this finance bro douchebag keeps coming into his house and making fun of his kid and taking off his nice clothes and staying for dinner even though Toff’s sure he can feed himself. And this kid keeps insisting he’s Canadian, has a Canada passport and everything but Toff doesn’t know, he’s too rude to be Canadian. He does wear Misa Canada jersey for World Juniors a little too long and SO enthusiastically. And Toff doesn’t want to come across as homophobic or anything but this kid is like 19 and he’s dating this 22 y/o fresh out of college guy. And is it weird if he asks them to keep Mikes door open? It’s weird.
Anyways Misa loves this guy fr. And mikes competence kink is only bigger with this version of Sam. And Sam will take good care of Mike until the day he dies fr. And this whole thing becomes quite problematic because at some point because this nobody finance associate on Instagram has been posting real gay photos of his boyfriend Michael #2 Misa for months and someone finds it. It makes a huge huge mess for sharks PR. But Mike said it was okay when Sam asked, so he knew it was probably gonna get out eventually. He’s so nonchalant about it. Like yeah what, look at how hot he is, he gives great head.
