Pleasant People

Baeoo arrives to work 30 minutes early on his first day. He’s nervous and excited and has literally no idea what to expect...especially given that he doesn’t even know what the Armed Detective Agency even is. He had only heard it referred to as the ADD, and as such he’s going in blind. Blind but optimistic. 

But! Just in case his new workplace was scary, Baeoo had bought two dozen assorted muffins to appease his new coworkers. Muffins never failed to bring a smile to his face. It’ll probably work great here. 

He gets into the elevator and within a few minutes he’s awkwardly standing in the middle of the Agency office, smiling and trying to look as natural as possible. 

“Hello...? Is Sanun here?”

  “Yes, yes! You are …  Basch Zwingli, correct? I’m Sanun Boonliang, the President of the Agency!!”

Bright smile as he holds out his hand.

This was the leader of the ADA?  Honestly, Basch was expecting someone older.

“Yes, I’m Basch Zwingli.  I’ve arrived on time.”

Basch held out a gloved hand.  He was glad he had decided to wear gloves today, it would be bad if he knocked out the leader of the Agency.

While Roderich certainly did many of spy missions, it was rare that he ever attempted to take the place of someone already existing. Even rarer did he try to take the place of someone in such a high position as the elusive leader of the Armed Detective Agency. But Roderich wasn’t one to back out of a mission, and he was confident enough in his abilities that, by the end of the week, he’d know enough about the man to be able to place himself in his shoes and learn some valuable information for the Guild. Perhaps he might even learn something while spying on the man.

Currently, Roderich was perched on the windowsill of what he knew to be the Agency’s headquarters in the form of a small wren. The window was closed at the moment, but he could still see in, and no one would think much of a bird. Really, it was the best way to go about this for now; all he had to do was sit, watch, and learn.

It was a few days late, but Mizuki had finally gotten her results from her latest exams. A welcome change frrom her work, which she finally decided she needed at least two minutes away from, she opened her results. When she read the grades and checked the deadline for rescheduling resits, her facce paled. She hadn’t done nearly as good as she had wanted to, and furthermore, the date to resit had already passed.

She sniffed and loosely refolded the paper, and tried to return to her work, wiping away tears every so often and trying to not get them on her paperwork. She tried to focus on her breathing while also focusing on solving the three remaining cases she had to piece together clues for, not noticing someone trying to call out to her.

“Sanuuuuuuun!” Here comes that boy, back from a mission. “I’m back!!! You won’t believe how crazy it got! Oh-- I already wrote my report of it, too! I’ll put it on your desk-- oh, unless you want it somewhere else? Or I can just give it to you now-- But really, it was crazy! I was all PSHOOOOH and they were all BLAM BLAM BLAM and then I--”

“...Okay well maybe I just followed a guy for an hour, BUT it worked out in the end, so it’s okay!”

“Yes you can come in!”

A new voice, one that he wasn’t familiar with. It must be one of the newcomers swarming in lately, which just made Sanun so happy! Due to this he made sure to look his best lately, with the help of Ravi of course, with wearing suits and making sure his hair didn’t look appear as wild as always.

  “You must be Ao, correct?” It appears that’s what the other preferred to be called when he was reading through his file the other day, and Sanun was always there to make sure his members are comfortable! They had to be here constantly, so better for them to be happy than uncomfortable and annoyed in their own workplace !

     “I’m Sanun Boonliang! It’s a pleasure to finally meet you!”

Neela walked in and was immediately charmed. Not only did this guy call him “Ao,” his internet handle (and preferred nickname, thanks!) but also... He was wearing a suit ! Like, a formal, legit, well-fit suit ! And that was totally rare now, with people renting suits and all that ? Like, Neela couldn’t understand why people couldn’t get fitted suits ! Listen, crumpled suits aren’t attractive, okay ?

“H-hello, yes, I am Ao !” Neela replied with a hesitant laugh, all confidence from before melted at the face of a very charming young man. He could just feel his heart speeding up ! Was this an insta-crush ? That was so weird !? This guy could be his dad, or something ! And it was his boss !? Neela breathed in deeply. Suck it up, Lee.

“It is nice to finally meet you ! I am honored to be here.” Neela regained his own persona, smiling cutely and happily bouncing into the room, his fingers entwined behind him.
