“When Father brought us here to see Mother all those years ago, he told us that she wouldn't leave our minds, that she would always be right here when we needed her. But he lied about that. The dead don't come for you.”

January Wrap Up
I can’t believe January is already over! It was a really good reading month for me, and I hope I can keep this momentum up for at least a few more months. As you may notice (or not, I don’t know), I’m changing the format of my wrap up posts. There are going to be two sections: Books Read and On the Blog.
I’m also tweaking my original goal of the year, which was to read one classic, one nonfiction book, one play, and one poetry, short story, or folklore collection each month. I’m going to do that every other month. For the months I’m not doing that, I’m going to do themed reading. February’s theme is “Beauty and the Beast,” which is an idea I got from @shadowtearling. (Not sure if you’re still doing it, but if you are, definitely come talk “Beauty and the Beast” retellings with me!)
Books Read - Goal: 5 Total: 11
I made it to more than double my goal! That’s definitely not going to be happening every month haha. I really enjoyed all of the books I read, but my favorite is by far The Queen of the Tearling. I can’t wait to get my hands on the next book! Just so you know, starred titles are audiobooks.

“I could tell the officer all of this because it was the truth. All of this happened in the house at some stage. Should it matter when it happened?”
