Lost in the Woods

((Can't screenshot a reply to a question that's this long, so cut and paste it is. :'D))

AskMansi: The woods are different here, from her home in the north. To an ignorant outsider, both forests would hold no difference with each other. But to someone like Mansi, someone who has been raised with the trees and the wild, can instantly differentiate her woods from these woods. They look different, smell different, even feel different…

That did not prevent Mansi from being able to make her way around the forest. Same difference, she thinks to herself as she picks out familiar plants and landmarks, and gathers supplies for the night. For a moment, she stands quietly, at ease within the woods. Soyala, her deerling, grazes at her feet; Hok’ee the drifblim and Etchemin the lapras had stayed behind at her camp. The woods here are peaceful, she thinks, and she closes her eyes—

“Hey!”

Mansi opens an eye in annoyance. City folk? she mouths to herself warily. Soyala immediately jumps to attention, bristling.

Out of the brush stumbles a tall young woman, armed and dressed in clothes unfamiliar and strange to Mansi. A deino drags itself after her, clearly unwilling to move in the first place.

“You over there! Mind givin’ a poor lost warrior some directions?” the woman calls. “Name’s Saraia, in case ya were wonderin’.”

Mansi raises an eyebrow. City folk, indeed. But if she is a warrior… that means she is an ally. Mansi sighs.

“Directions? To where…?” she replies, straightforward as always. But even though this Saraia may be an ally, Mansi is still hesitant to give her name.

Saraia rubs the back of her head sheepishly, embarrassed. "Ah need directions back tah Castelia City. Managed to get mahself completely lost somehow." The Deino at her feet, who had been straring at the Ranger's Pokemon warily, glares up at his Trainer and hisses. She glares back at him. "Ah'm not an idiot Falk, just...directionally challenged."

She awkwardly brushes away some of the leaves and twigs stuck in her hair; then glances at Mansi. "Ah'm sorry fer the trouble, but ah could really use some help gettin' back. Would yeh mind givin' meh directions, or mebbe guidin' meh back? Either would do." Falk snorts derisively and returns to staring at the strange Pokemon.

Falk, her Deino, lounges at her feet, looking rather disinclined towards moving.“Where in the world have ah led us to this time…” Saraia mutters, annoyed. "Heyla, Ranger! Ah heard us Warriors are gonna be workin' with yer faction, so ah figured ah might as well introduce mahself to some of you. Name's Saraia by the way." Grins nervously, she's not used to dealing with people who aren't warriors. "So... what do yah like most 'bout bein' in yer faction so far?"

"Aislin." She pauses, eyeing the other woman. "Could go either way. Enjoy rushing into battle, but prefer safety by distance. Like the trees. Sturdy and tall. Forest is nice.""Saraia. Will remember. What... do you enjoy most about Warriors?"

My Questions

1. Name a country/city/place you’ve always wanted to visit.

Oh gosh there are so many. I really just want to travel the world, but I'm a little obsessed with India so I'd like to go there. Also France, Australia, Greece. I want to go back to Italy so I can see all the cities I didn't get a chance to see when I was there. I need to go to Florence. Badly. 

2. Do you have any guilty pleasures? If so, what?

Hmmm well since I'm trying to be Paleo, basically anything with sugar is a guilty pleasure. Right now it's peeps and ice cream.

3. When’s your birthday and what’s your sign? Do you feel your sign accurately describes you?

December 3, so I'm a Sagittarius. I'm don't know much about astrology, but I guess Sagittarius' are described as passionate, philosophical, energetic, and free spirited. I think this is somewhat accurate. I love philosophy and I get really excited about things, but I don't have passion (either that or I haven't found what I'm really passionate about). Like I don't have this all consuming drive to follow my dreams and be my own person. A lot of the time I feel like there's a huge weight on my brain, and I'm scared of other people and what they think.

4. Name one crush (celebrity or person in your life).

Oh golly so many. Alison Sudol of A Fine Frenzy. Andrew Scott (Moriarty in the BBC's Sherlock). I'm developing a crush on Daesung from Big Bang. Allan Leech (Branson from Downton Abbey)...I'm kinda in love with him actually.

5. How do you feel about dancing?

Dancing is my favorite thing to do. I love love love it. In all it's forms. I do Egyptian and African. I did tap, jazz and ballet when I was a kid. But I also love just putting on some music and jamming out. I love watching dancers and dance movies (even though the movies as a whole are pretty terrible, I watch them just for the dancing). I want to learn Flamenco, various forms of bellydance, ballroom. I would love to learn tribal dances, and become a world dance expert. 

6. Piercings? Tattoos? If none (or just ears) would you get more? Why/why not?

I have very mixed feelings about piercings and tattoos. I only have my ears pierced and I don't think I'd get anything else pierced (maybe a second hole in my lobes but probably not). I don't think I'd ever get a tattoo either. That said, I love body art. And I mean ART, not just tattoos everywhere. Like big colorful blobby tattoos of flowers and wolf faces or whatever gross me out. Same with piercings if they're stuck randomly all over your face. I tend to like black and white tattoos with lots of negative space, or small tattoos. I really like Indian nose rings with the chain attached. A well placed nose or lip piercing can be nice, but I don't think I'd ever get one.

7. Favorite Miyazaki film and why.

Howls Moving Castle. It's just such a great story and I love the scarecrow.

8. What do you want to be when you grow up?

Errr...this question plagues my existence. I don't know. I don't know. I don't know. A dancer. A world traveler. A poet. Nothing that could pay the bills. When I was little I wanted to be Jane Goodall. Or a bushman. 

9. If you had to give up almost everything you owned, what would you keep?

My books. The notebooks with my writing. Belly dance costumes. Anything that was a gift from Michael (Zoe Jakes dvd, IPod, the heart shaped wire sculpure with our names inside it).

11. Cats or dogs and why.

Well I own a dog and I love him dearly. Never owned a cat, but I think I'm secretly a cat person. Like I think I love my dog because I don't have to do much to take care of him. My parents feed him and walk him most of the time. I play with him occasionally and feed him, but mostly I just use him for petting. I think If I had the full responsibility of a dog, I wouldn't enjoy him as much. Cats are lower maitenance so I think I'd like having a  cat more.

I Don't Know

“I don’t know where Heem is. The fire from the ship was so fluxably heavy! I don’t even know where I lost him.” It was Saraia, his older sister, about twenty. Her helmet tucked under her arm.

“Oh, you must be Fia. My little brother talked about you all the time. I’m sorry. I don’t think he’ll being coming back.” She embraced Fia, which finally pulled her out of her state. “He adored you very much you know.”
