"This is your bright idea?"
“Yes, Commander,” Obi-Wan answered, eyes closed and cheek pressed nearly flat against the bottom of the wall as he used the Force to feel along the small venting duct in search of some kind of - Ah. Seam. Perfect. “This is my bright idea.”
He flapped his hand at the cell door carelessly with his free hand, visibly distracted - this kind of Alter was not one of his stronger skills, and doing it at a distance by sense alone wasn’t making it any easier. “It would take forever to get out that way; they’re expecting that. We’d have to deal with prepared guards, possibly back-up, the whole base would be on alert... Such a hassle, really. This will be much faster.”
Obi-Wan half paused, double-checking against his mental map of the terrain outside, and revised his assessment to much, much faster. At least they’d make it back to camp in plenty of time to ruin the Seps’ surprise. He wobbled slightly when he stood several long minutes later, and tapped his fingers against the wall to steady himself.
... Yes. Good, that was it, then. Obi-Wan nodded once, satisfied, and grinned as he headed for the far side of the cell, pulling his Commander with him once they’d drawn even.
“You might want to hang on to me for this,” he advised his Commander, tone cheerful as he looped an arm around the bigger man’s waist. He gave the Force one last gentle tug. For a moment, nothing happened. Then a low, seemingly distant rumble sounded, growing steadily nearer - and louder - as the second ticked passed. The floor trembled.
Shook.
Shuddered, jolted, convulsed.
And crumpled as the rockslide Obi-Wan had just triggered took out the entire section of cliff that their cell was sitting over. They went with it, along with a massive chunk of the rest of the base. Obi-Wan pulled again at the Force, this time to brace himself and Cody and prepare for their landing in the water below. Obi-Wan spotted his ‘saber falling with them through one of the cell’s new windows and called it to his free hand: an unexpected bonus. He’d expected he’d have to look harder for that.
“You see?” he called brightly as he clipped the lightsaber to his belt. “Much less trouble!”
