Indefinite Hiatus
Hey guys!
I am going to be taking a break from writing/posting fic for a bit. A lot of things are going on with my life rn, one of the biggest being that my health has been in flux all month. Because of this my writing progress has slowed down and for the sake of both my mental and physical health I'll be taking a break.
I don't forsee this hiatus being permanent, however I can't say with certainty how long it'll last.
Feel free to send asks about my stuff if you'd like, but I'll probably be slow to reply to them.

Aight so spoilers for: Wicked, Transformers: One, and probably some other stuff
Ok so it might just be me but the visual metaphor of a character falling before starting their ascent to their highest point is really strong and it’s something I’ve noticed happening more in recent media
- Elphaba falling out the window during Defying Gravity in the Wicked movie
- Orion falling to the core of Cybertron in TF: One
- Miles falling during the “What’s up Danger” sequence of ITSV and the train chase of ATSV
- Leonardo falling with Krang Prime in ROTTMNT
- Sonic falling from the bridge in Sonic 2 (may be a stretch)
My point is it’s a cool writing trick I’ve seen in more recent media that’s usually paired with a slam-dunk conclusion to a character arc and it’s really neat to see more works adopting it as part of their narrative since it’s such a good way to communicate both peril, a character’s feeling, and make major plot beats happen
Get on tumblr, got no messages, got no tagged reblogs, already seen whats on my dash, what's a girl to do with her life? Go outside? Talk to people? In this economy? Hard pass.
In the prologue, Alina explains she never finishes her food because it tastes like mud. When Mal says it tastes fine to him, she simply teases him by saying he will eat anything.
I find this particular interesting for two reasons:
It could possibly mean she used to eat good food before going to the orphanage, or something of a decent quality. However, we know nothing of her parents or origins other than her birthplace which happens to be a battlefield between Shu-Han & Ravka, leading me to believe they were most likely trying to survive day by day, saving money and food.
Or, the suppression of her powers (and her sickness) comes from before Mal. We know the Duke's orphanage is not the best environment to grow but surely he could give them access to good ingredients as far as I remember. Sweet girl, why aren't you eating?
