Thank you for watching another Sashiko Live Streaming today on Friday. I try my best to be honest in this account. I used to be “silent” to be liked, but "no more silence” to pass down what we are proud of. ☆ One may face “inconvenient facts” in reading/listening to what I say. However, when they read enough, they should find out that I am NOT excluding others. In fact, opposite. I am welcoming. To be straight to the point, I am just asking for a bit of respect as a human being. I try to understand them as a human (not something I can just block and ignore). I want you to think of me as a human being as well - not Alexa in Amazon devices or Google Browser who answers any questions without “Please” and “Thank you”. ☆ After all, I believe they are here because they are interested in “Sashiko”. Sashiko is a form of hand-stitching. Sashiko is beautiful because it is done by “humans”. We live in such a different world after the Internet. We all look at the world the way we want to see, listen to what we want to understand, and read things to validate our own ideas. I am the same, although my goal is to learn by being honest and humble. We live in a society of “freedom”. There is Nothing to restrict one’s creativity. Therefore, it is important for me to share the “raw voice” of people behind the words. It is the Live Streaming, writing on the Internet, and the Online/In-person Sashiko class. Listening to the silent voice in the history - especially if they are still available. Every 15th of each month, I adjust the numbers of participants I can have for the Sashiko Online Class. It is my goal to provide comprehensive support, and therefore I try to control the participants' numbers. (Not like other “Online Learning” Platforms where thousands of people learn by just watching the video.) ☆ The special deal for “Stay Home” is still active. I believe the Online Sashiko Class can give you a good understanding of the Core of Sashiko, and good technique to enjoy the “rhythmical stitching”. ☆ I will share some of the wonderful results by my students. (Well, as I keep saying, I consider them friends rather than students after the workshop/class). I believe they find their own Sashiko, and I am very much impressed by their achievement. It doesn’t take months to learn Sashiko. It is a simple form of stitching after all. However, there is a “core” that I would like to teach in the personalized situation - because everyone has different hands & different experience, and may require different advice. After using these threads for more than a year, I am offering them in our webshop. I am kind of spoiled in “Sashiko Thread”. Since my childhood, I have been using the “Sashiko thread” we are proud of. Therefore, customers asked me my opinion of “alternative Sashiko thread”, I did not have my answer. Although we make international shipping, our thread may not be available in some countries. I believe this great Sashiko thread “Daruma” by Yokota, may be available in more countries. The thick one can be a good alternative. The thin one can be used for other Sashiko - but my preference is a thick one. ☆ Since Yokota is a long-established & big thread company in Japan, many retailers offer the Yokota Sashiko thread. However, I believe I am the only shop that had spent so much time studying before offering it (although I started offering smaller skeins in advance). It would be great if you could choose our store to purchase the Yokota thread. I will do my best in pricing, and your purchase directly helps me to spend more time in “researching”. We are a group of Sashiko stitchers - and Sashiko usually indicates a form of Japanese hand stitching. So, yes, it is hand-stitched. The previous posts (on 11/3 & 11/5) are the photos of the denim curtain with me hand-stitching in 5 months probably a few hours every week. Most of the stitching is recorded and archived on Youtube. The thimble I use is this small in contrast to the pattern. This is Sashiko. The speed of hand-stitching, the joy of making, and the results of serious of imperfect stitches with intending to be better, are the core of Sashiko. ☆ - - - ☆ 「刺し子＝手刺し」という前提がなかったり、はたまた刺し子と運針の関係性への関心が薄い方からすると、デニムカーテンのサイズの手刺し刺し子は正気の沙汰ではないようで。でも、普通に手刺しです。嘘もホントもへったくれもなく、80%くらいの制作過程は今もYoutubeに残ってますし。これくらいの刺し子であれば（重ねがなければｗ）、それほど苦しくなく、寧ろめっちゃ楽しく無理なく行なえます。平均して一週間に2~4時間くらいを5ヶ月弱続けるとこれくらいの刺し子です。運針ってそういうこと。誰でもできるんです。ほんとに。 ☆ 遠くから見ると柄が小さい用に見えますが、近くで見ると、指ぬきがこのサイズなので、たいして小さい麻の葉じゃないのです。普通の麻の葉。寧ろ大きい麻の葉が、大きすぎるくらいに。いろんな刺し子をご紹介することで、もっと広い視線で刺し子を楽しめる人が増えてくれたら良いなぁと思うのです。 ☆ #Sashiko #Curtain #SashikoStitching #Handstitching #SashikoEmbroidery #HandEmbroidery #SashikoPatterns #刺し子 #SashiCo #モーニング刺し娘による世界刺し子化計画 #素敵なオン刺し #運針会 https://www.instagram.com/p/B4inj-PJgvA/?igshid=y68cz6uz1g8g

With watching the Keiko’s Sashiko Jackets, we (Keiko and I) often talk about the journey we are walking on. A craftmanship with a lot of pride to the artistic feeling of expressing oneself. Being a teacher from time to time, and now we are exploring more possibility of Sashiko. ☆ Since we were in the Sashiko tradition, “going outside of the box” was (is) always a challenge. Keiko is leading one interesting project, which can probably surprise the world.
