Chapter 1: Not Home

         The Story begins here. A young man sits on the edge of his bed. He’s no older than 20 but has look of maturity too him, as if he knows more than his young appearance suggest. The moon shined in through the curtainless window and lit up half of his face. Everything around him seems to be going in slow motion as he stays in place. Trent is an adopted child and has been with the Forton ‘family’ for about 14 years of his life. As he got older it became apparent he was adopted for the wrong reasons. He was adopted more for the promise of some extra money from the state every year. In fact, he might as well have been renting a room. No one really took care of him. He had his own job at a local warehouse in his town, which kept him in shape, and he paid rent to his often rude and drunk ‘father’ Chuck. His ‘mother’ was always a kind woman when given the chance, but was always in constant fear of the father, so she barely spoke out when she saw something wrong. Trent however found relief in his older sister Kimberly, “Kay” for short. The Forton’s birth daughter and seemingly Chuck’s pride and joy. and She was all too aware of it. she played the role well with a constant “thank you daddy” when chuck would pass her a few dollars to go out. She had compassion,a sense of humor, and she wasn’t afraid of anything or anyone. She would be the one to stand up when her mom wouldn’t or couldn’t say anything. More than that she looked out for Trent. Making sure he didn’t get into trouble but also sliding drinks his way when he’d ask as well as sneak him into any bar or club he wanted to be in (not that he ever really wanted to be.) They were really good friends but, Trent still never felt like she was his real sister. He honestly just couldn’t help but feel alone and uncertain most of the time…but for the other times there was always alcohol..…

The First Flight of The Moon

I will be starting a story that i wrote on here shortly. The story is to be read while listening to “Satellite Flight” By Kid Cudi. it was written to go along with the mood and overall feeling that i felt while listening to the album.
