But if you don't think that every single one of us isn't going to beg and plead with them to make a "quick stop" by Mars for us to save Oppy, you're lying to yourself and everyone else.
We'd beg, plead, throw a fit, bargain, and do whatever we can think of to get them to go to Mars, find Oppy, and let us drag her on board so we can clean her off and get her running again, probably cooing to her and petting her all the while, promising to make her "all sparkly and shiny and clean again" so she can go back to doing what she does best. And don't lie to yourself and tell yourself you wouldn't give her a hug and kiss from all of humanity.
And THAT is when the aliens realise we will pack bond with anything and everything.
