You can make a hearty and tasty pot roast in your air fryer and eat it. With this one-pot recipe, it's easy and quick to make a pot roast with vegetables and rich gravy.
Ingredients: 3-4 pounds of chuck roast. 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil. 1 onion, sliced. 4 cloves of garlic, minced. 2 cups of beef broth. 1 cup of red wine optional. 4 carrots, peeled and cut into chunks. 4 potatoes, peeled and cut into chunks. 2 teaspoons of salt. 1 teaspoon of black pepper. 1 teaspoon of dried thyme. 1 teaspoon of dried rosemary. 1/4 cup of all-purpose flour. 1/4 cup of water.
Instructions: Season the chuck roast with salt, pepper, thyme, and rosemary. Turn on the air fryer to 375F 190C and preheat for a few minutes. Add vegetable oil to the air fryer basket and place the seasoned chuck roast in it. Air fry the roast for 5 minutes on each side until it's nicely browned. Remove the roast and set it aside. In the same air fryer, add sliced onions and minced garlic. Saut until they become fragrant. Place the browned chuck roast back into the air fryer on top of the onions and garlic. Add beef broth and red wine if using to the air fryer. Add carrots and potatoes around the roast. Close the air fryer and cook at 375F 190C for 45 minutes to 1 hour, or until the roast and vegetables are tender. Once done, remove the roast and vegetables from the air fryer and let them rest. In a small bowl, mix flour and water to create a slurry. Turn on the air fryer to 400F 200C and pour the slurry into the juices left in the air fryer. Whisk the mixture until it thickens to make a delicious gravy. Slice the pot roast, serve it with the vegetables, and drizzle the gravy over the top.
