shoutout to chainsaw and chainsaw adjacent enemies in resi
aint nothing make me piss my pants fast during a first playthrough
I was scared of these two while playing Revelations. First time playing this game was on the 3DS. Beat the game once on the 3DS bc I was to scared to redo it again. I eventually got revelations on the PS3 and I wasn’t really scared. Was it bc I originally played Revelation’s on a hand held device that made it scarier or was I just a wimp.
I don’t know. I still refuse to play again on the 3DS. I’ll play it on console that’s it but not the DS. Playing it on the DS scared me for some odd reason. I was like 9 or younger at the time (Don’t remember what age I was at the time)
Scagdead
Scagdead concept art © Capcom, accessed at the Resident Evil Wiki here
[Commissioned by Soluman. I’ve never sat down and played a Resident Evil game, barring the demo for RE IV. I do, however, greatly enjoy their monster design philosophy. The scagdead here appears to be inspired by multiple different iterations of the Thing--it has the ragged head of the Norris-Thing and the split maw of the Palmer-Thing. And it has an organic buzzsaw! My favorite detail, though, has to be those backwards feet.]
Scagdead CR 11 NE Undead This bloated horror looks as though it was once humanoid, but has grown beyond those proportions. It has a split torso, one side ending in a human-like head and the other in an oversized, lamprey like maw. It has three arms, one of which is human-like, one of which is a saw-toothed flipper, and one of which is enormous and ends in a jagged, spinning blade. Its legs end in backwards-pointing, webbed feet.
The scagdead are abominations of the zombie creation process, forming when a creature dies of zombie rot and comes back wrong. They are similar to the infected undead in that sense, but much stronger and even more misshapen. A scagdead’s humanoid head reflexively repeats phrases that were important to it in life, but it has an animalistic intelligence only and lives to kill.
Scagdead are slow, but they can hinder enemies by spitting clamshell traps at them—these structures function similarly to a bear trap. A scagdead usually leaves several of these traps laying around an area it patrols, and most of these creatures remain in an area that was important to them in life (unless ordered to move by a necromancer). Focusing on slowed enemies first, a scagdead grabs them in its jaws and then shreds them with its spinning blade arm. If it cannot make a grapple, or if it faces multiple opponents at once, it prefers to use its Great Cleave feat to spread its blade arm over a wide area.
It ain’t Resident Evil if it doesn’t have crazy transformations
A birthday picture for my friend, Shannon, depicted here as Moira Burton.
Our good friend, Dustin asked me to compose it as a gift––of him and Shannon playing Resident Evil: Revelations 2––so it was kind of like a collaborative gift between the two of us. Happy B-Day, Shannon! (^ u ^)
Iguana Scagdead Random Reptile with Suggested RE monster. I might have gotten slightly carried away with this one...just a little bit.
