welll the telltale heart is about a guy who murdered someone and got so in their own head about it that they thought that they could still hear the victim's heart beating under their floorboards where they buried his body. pretty neat piece of literature. thought it might resonate in some way. you know, in an abstract sense of course

I just successfully scared the crap out of my 15 year old brother. The time is 12:33 AM. The air conditioning unit in our window keeps stutter and the floor keeps creaking, more so than usual. To annoy him when he's trying to fall asleep I sometimes sing, today I sang 'we just figured out Blue's clues' in a quiet and I guess creepy voice, and my sheer coincidence less than a second after I said 'smart' the AC made a loud sound and our baby brother started screaming out of nowhere and my older brother jumped up and swore at me but I'm gonna be spontaneously smiling at this for weeks and probably high-fiveing lil bro too.
