Rules: Post a sentence or excerpt from your WIP that you are proud of (be it because of how it’s written, how you came up with it, where it has brought you in the story, it’s up to you!) And tag 10 people (or however many you’d like really!)
the excerpt i really want to post is from my big bang, so i’ll have to settle for a different one... okay so i just browsed through a few of my wip’s and decided that i’d have to post all of ‘liven my body’ (hobbit) so that’s out, and my hardy boys wip excerpt would be too long. so ‘gracing ghosts’ it is!
The wind dusted through the large house, moving sluggishly and likely without purpose, and Bobby Singer hauled himself up from his chair with a grunt. The chair was a cozy one, a high-backed, cushioned thing colored tan with a smooth, almost velvety surface that was surprising whenever he reminded himself of its old age. It had been part of a wedding gift, one half of a set given to the new Mr. and Mrs. Bobby Singers, and its partner now resided in the basement, far in the back but at the same time tucked as far away from the panic room as Bobby had managed to get it. John Winchester had tried to bring it up once, as an extra chair for guests, he had claimed, but Bobby heard it being lugged up the stairs, investigated, and promptly guilt-tripped the eldest Winchester with the words, “Don’t tell me, an’ don’t tell yer boy, that you don’t keep Sammy’s teddy at the bottom of yer trunk fer no reason. It hurts too much, so don’t bring that pain back into my living room, ya hear?”
For once, Bobby had been the one to win the battle. John forever assured him that he wouldn’t be the one to win the war.
Another ring cut the air, moving with the wind, and the gruff, hatted man strode toward his kitchen and its neighboring telephones.
“‘m comin’, ‘m comin’!” He grumbled, scratching briefly at the top of his spine even as his boots thumped dirt into his floorboards. “Don’t get yer knickers in a twist.”
He reached blindly for the corded phone making all the racket and simultaneously grabbed the notebook and pen off of the counter, already anticipating the need for note-taking.
“This is Bobby Singer, how c’n I help?”
“Hey, Bobby, I’ve got a little somethin’ for ya, think you’re up for it?”
“Rufus,” Bobby greeted with a scowl. “Thanks fer interrupting my beauty sleep.”
“You’re welcome, but look, I’ve run across a bit of a researching problem that’s got your name written all over it.”
Bobby could practically imagine the grin that hugged his former mentor’s face, brown cheeks stretched wide and matching eyes lightened with humor. “You gonna keep babbling, or are ya gonna tell me what it is?” A tapping sound marched from the kitchen counter to the phone wall, but the hunter waved a hand in the general direction of his resident ghost. “No, Sam, I will not be polite.”
“Aw, your ghost telling you to mind your manners?”

Questions Answered!
We’ve had a lot of amazing response from you guys, so we thought we’d answer some of your burning questions!
siryl replied to your photoset: Herald: An Interactive Period Drama - Book I & II...
It’s a maritime dating sim, right?
Yes that is totally what Herald is! ;p Kidding aside, flirting is not out of the question, but the focus of the game is more about making friends...or enemies! scatteringmyashes reblogged your photoset and added:
The real question: can you be gay in it
You can be as gay as you like, but whether Devan is, is up for debate! thisblackwitch reblogged your photoset and added:
Another “half white/half other” game? Lame. Can’t folks do anything else?
We’re sorry you feel that way! For Herald it was a very deliberate narrative choice as to place the player between two worlds and explore the identity struggle many people face in a multicultural society.
We had a great time going through some of the tags you left! If anyone has any questions about Herald, it’s themes and story, feel free to ask us!
Herald: Book I & II are available on: Steam | GOG | Humble Store | Itch.io

Story time from a session that happened some time ago!
In the main campaign I’m in for dnd, we have a mission to get an 8 year old princess, Iris, back to her guards after she was separated from some of them during an attack in the woods... (we kind of found her and are now on a journey to find where exactly her original guards were supposed to be taking her). My character, Keith, kind of became like a big brother to her, so him and Iris are really close, which is nice. During this adventure we found out that assassins are being sent to try and kill her. One of these moments, we were ambushed in our inn rooms and Iris got knocked unconscious by a group that snuck into the room she was sharing with Keith and another party member, Lorilla, who Iris and Keith trust a lot. Though, as the battle happened, and we were protecting Iris, Lorilla decided to risk Iris’ life and use a thunderwave in the room, when Keith and Iris were just 10 feet away from her. By the grace of our DM, since Keith also has thunderwave (and therefore knowledge of how it works), I was allowed to use a reaction to have Keith throw himself over Iris and act as a shield, to take the damage away from her.
