There are a lot of historically Black colleges and universities going into lockdown over threats to the campuses right now in the wake of Charlie Kirk's death. Some have received direct threats, and others are going into lockdown out of precaution. Please spread this around if you can, and check-in on any Black college students you know.

Pardon my rant, lovelies. TW: School lockdown

The schools in my area went into lockdown thanks to someone swatting. If you don't know what swatting is, it involves an individual making a false emergency report to law enforcement to provoke a large, unnecessary police response. So, a prank call.

Fuck ANYONE who does that. The world is bad enough as it is. My babies (yes, they will always be my babies) having to go through regular practices for lockdown since it's the norm is heartbreaking. I'm thankful that the police took it seriously, but putting families through that unnecessary fear and more? Fuck off.

Fuck all the way off.

I hate living in the US.

The first day of school, last Wednesday, we were put into lockout. We had an assembly to welcome everyone back to school for the year. A student, age 15, had a gun in his waistband. He was detained after the assembly.

He was in the school.

They placed us into lock out.

He had a gun on his person, in an assembly, and they treated it as an outside threat.

He was arrested inside the school building.

They said it was a drill.

Today is day four of school, the first Monday of the year.

We have been placed into lock out again.

Four students have been arrested in relation to a gun thrown out in a toilet.

Arrested in the school.

Again.

There is a fifth student being questioned in relation to this event.

I'm tired of my "safety" being removed due to my school's inability to function. In both events, were in lock down. In both events, the students and weapons in question were found inside the school.

I don't care how quickly things were controlled. If the threat is inside the building, we should be locked down, not in.

Tired of my administration being useless.

I'm already so tired of being here.

Lord there was too much going on at my school today, one minute it were multiple fights the next minute it was a lockdown. I'm so glad this is my final year in highschool, because I'm ready to get away from all of the unnecessary drama that I don't want to stand by for.
