#school tests

Of course the one day I forget to bring my stim toys to school is the day I have SOL testing.

So I just realised

People talk about how stressful high school finals are, yes?

(For non United Statesians/non Americans -

high school is around 14 to 18 year olds

sometimes with a couple 19 to 20 year olds who were held back because they failed classes (“super seniors”))

In the four years we were in high school (first time we stayed at same school the whole time)

Year one: many people skipped finals days

Year two: a kid pulled the fire alarm to get out of finals;

they got arrested (in juvee overnight) for a false alarm

Year three: gas leak interrupted finals; probably was a student

Year four: someone lit toilet paper on fire in the bathroom to get out of finals;

firefighters couldn’t figure out who did it but it did actually cause some damage to the school.

....

Is it just me, or is it concerning that kids, children, are willing to do pretty much anything to escape the stress of finals?

(For reference we went to school in the United States (unfortunately).)

They were willing to be arrested if it meant not having to take a test.

Isn’t that bad?
