Are You a Good AAC Communication Partner?
Are you a good communication partner? There are many different methodologies and evidence-based practices available. I like to mix and match based on individual communication needs, environment and support system.
When working with individuals with complex communication needs, it is important to:

It’s finally spring time again! I have missed the sun so much this winter! To celebrate spring time and the opening of my new private practice I thought I would introduce myself. So here are seven facts you may not have known about me! 1. I have cerebral palsy and was a very sick child. Luckily my mom fought for me and after years of physical, occupational and yes speech therapy there are very few obvious symptoms that impact my daily life. 2. I am a HUGE sci fyi nerd. One of my all time favorite shows growing up was SG-1. 3. I am practically blind without my contacts. I can’t see anything! I have month long contacts that I can sleep in because waking up and getting to the bathroom to be able to see was giving me bruises. 4. I am absolutely obsessed with traveling! So far I have traveled to Mexico, Canada, Italy, Israel, and then I studied in China for six months. Right now my BF and I are saving up for a trip to go backpacking in Europe. Our itinerary includes Germany, Austria, Sweden and Budapest. 5. My mom is a survivor of a severe traumatic brain injury and this has had an incalculable impact on my life. 6. I have a very needy cat that I believe has PTSD. His name is Smokey and he is SO loving. 7. I have known I wanted to be a SLP since I was 17 and was mentoring a little boy who stuttered as part of my PALS program in HS. So now you know a little more about me! Follow me on FB and Tumblr and I will follow you back! #moodyslp #slp #slpeeps #schoolslp #privatepractice #slpbloggers (at Olympia, Washington) https://www.instagram.com/p/BwIxM69BHBUufC9e_E83GRdyJuQqQ9pMeJk2mY0/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=44p1j9inoqn7

When a student moves two weeks after you complete an initial evaluation and IEP!
You can’t give from an empty cup. Sometimes you have to let your hair down and just relax! #slplife #springbreak #schoolslp https://www.instagram.com/p/Bvpn6S1hxfGQQvW_-iJXkH61BnbZBBJq5sv95I0/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=u8j02129cwea
