I’m trying to decide whether I want to see Beetlejuice Beetlejuice. I bought a ticket for an early screening on 09/04. But now that there are some reviews, and more press about it, I’m not sure.

I saw the original Beetlejuice (1988) and have a vague memories of it. But I haven’t rewatched it since. I saw Burton’s Batman movies (1989/1992). Did I like them? Mixed feelings. They were the only comic book game in town then.

I only have a vague memory of Edward Scissorhands (1990). I “think” I liked Ed Wood (1994), but I didn’t like Mars Attacks (1996). And I especially hated Burton’s Planet of the Apes (2001).

I can’t explain why I continued to go see Tim Burton’s movies such as Charlie & the Chocolate Factory (2005), Sweeny Todd (2007), and Alice in Wonderland (2010). He was creatively bankrupt and was just delivering weird schtick.

Burton’s Dark Shadows (2012) was a piece of sh!t. It convinced me to break the habit of seeing any film Burton was associated with. I haven’t seeing a Burton movie since…

… and I just convinced myself to cancel the ticket I prepurchased…

I need a schtick.  I think I wanna be the kinda guy who asks unsuspecting travelers to answer me these riddles three.  All I gotsta to do is memorize three riddles and block traffic at some bottleneck; I’m already halfway there!

i rarely listen 2 albums in full in one go (like, unless it’s purple rain, kimono, or apollo [i almost only listen 2 those in full?] it’s rly rare for me just bc if i do it i treat it as a Thing to which i want to give my full attention) but i’ve taken time out and done it so so much the past two weeks and i’m like old me but stronger

and it’s been stuff i’ve always liked but never rly sat down to listen to... like... ultravox vienna, or zuckerzeit by cluster, or lcd’s self-titled, or moon safari (which i’ve always considered one of my fav albums but i’d never u know given it a go in one go!!), + a couple first time listens (the new(ish) xiu xiu, the new charli, something else icr) and i’m, like, thrilled with myself for finally taking the time out to do this a bunch and i wanna do it more and get back into writing about albums & doing reviews & doing the top 10 a week thing i used to do on my music blog speaking of WHICH i’ve saved for posterity but i’m remaking and i’m rly excited 2... head back into this territory w/ new enthusiasm rather than a sense of obligation. idk i’ve just been keen about music lately and since i’m gonna be playing it a lot more i wanna be listening a lot more too. thx.... for reading....
