So, I've been having my mother watch the Apothecary Diaries because she recently finished Dr. Stone and wanted another "Sciency anime" to watch. The only other one that I could think of that vaguely matched that was The Apothecary Diaries, so she started watching it.

And while she is well-meaning, she also is very American, and is unfortunately terrible at remembering character names, especially Chinese character names. So here's my mother's guide to naming characters"

Maomao = Meow Meow

Meimei = Mee Mee

Jinshi = Jianshi

Luomen = Lohan

Lishu = Linlia

Loulan = Linglou

Lakan = Lakhan

Those are just the characters that she can actually remember... oh well, at least she tries. Maomao is officially Meow Meow now because "that's why she has the cat ears all the time, because she's Meow Meow." I can't really blame her for that one, though. She doesn't really understand the whole anime-cat thing either. Keeps wondering about why the characters turn into cats sometimes.
