This handsome building caught my eye yesterday on the way up to Stirling Castle. It's Princes Street drill hall and according to Canmore "elaborate symmetrically-fronted baronial drill hall, with cone-roofed drum-towers was built around 1892. The hall lies behind. In 1914 it was drill station for "B" Squadron, Fife & Forfar yeomanry , HQ of and base for "A" Company, 7th battalion Argyll & Sutherland Highlanders" The battalion was mobilised at the drill hall in August 1914 before being deployed to the Western Front, The 7th Battalion amalgamated with the 8th Battalion to form the 3rd (Territorial) Battalion, The Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders (Princess Louise's) in Stirling in 1967 and the army moved out.

I have conflicting info on it now, Wiki says it was converted for residential use, Canmore say it was once a Leisure centre, I did notice a sign for a canoe club round the side. Either way it doesn't look like it is in use now, the doors and windows all have steel shuttering on ground level. Canmore updated the info in 2017 saying the upper floors continues to be lived in as a private residence, looking into it further it is on the Buildings at Risk website.
