Sorroquine is a deeply mysterious Pokémon said to dwell within the deepest, stillest inland lochs of Orcaibh. Known for its haunting wail, which echoes mournfully across the moors and glens, Sorroquine has long been feared and revered in equal measure, and sightings are surrounded by ancient tales of sorrow, loss, and disappearances.
Said to be born from the cumulative grief of countless lives claimed by lochs and rivers that dot the land, it is less a creature of flesh than a manifestation of waterborne grief.
Trainers and locals alike report an overwhelming melancholy when in its presence, describing it as if their saddest memories surface all at once.
Most local tales say Sorroquine appears on mist-shrouded nights, beckoning wanderers toward the water with its tearful eyes. While many stories speak of it dragging the lonely or lost beneath the surface, folklorists debate whether this is malicious or merely a misunderstood desire for companionship. Though none who are said to have vanished in its presence have ever returned.
Though the few written accounts varies, it is believed this Pokémon dose not attack in the traditional sense—instead, it methodically drowns those weighed down by sorrow or despair, pulling them beneath the surface as if inviting them to give in and rest.

Biology
Sorroquine resembles a tall, majestic equine with a sleek, aquatic frame and main and tsil of rushing untamed water.
Its eyes are hauntingly sad almost grief stricken with a single tear line running endlessly from each socket.
This Pokémon also posses to long ear like horns sprouting from its head.
Despite its mass, it glides silently across water, and even land, leaving behind no ripples or hoofprints in its wake. On rare occasions, when angered or provoked, Sorroquine can unleash tremendous torrents of dark cold water said to be infused with pure grief, known to cause hallucinations or emotional breakdowns in humans and Pokémon alike.
Its core temperature is near freezing, and being near Sorroquine causes the surrounding air to chill nut not cold enough to freeze.
Its heartbeat is said to echo like a drum through the loch waters—slow, steady, and melancholic. Drawing people in.
Perhaps one of the most distinctive feature is the ring-like symbol on its flank, said to appear even in the reflections of water where Sorroquine is not physically present. Though the meaning behind this symbol is yet unknown.

Personality
Sorroquine is not nessiserily malevolent, but inevitably tragic. And a fundamental force of emotion made phisical. It is drawn to the emotionally vulnerable—those who are grieving or weighed down by sadness. These individuals report hearing its cries more clearly than others. With legends statung only the ones who have lost a love one hearing its crys at all. The sad sounds falling on deaf ears of thoughs yet to greave.
When it appears in full form, it moves with slow, dreamlike grace, offering no immediate threat—but its very proximity often overwhelms the will to resist. It “feeds” not on phisical food, but on deep sorrow, becoming stronger in regions with heavy emotional history.
Dipictions differ depending on island but some state it shows compassion to the lonely or mourning, often appearing when those in grief are near lakes. Others state its desire for connection is overpowering — it may draw others into its world beneath the waves not out of yearning to never be alone again.
Wether malicious or not for countless generations this Pokémon’s name has been passed foen verbally in Orcaibh long before written accounts with many modern people believing such a Pokémon dosent exist and a few believing it waits by still waters to drown all that come near.

It draws in their sadness like mist, easing their pain — though in doing so, it grows heavier with sorrow itself. Some say it steals sorrow the way a flame steals air, leaving peace or hollowness in its place

Islanders whisper of this Pokémon as a deathless warning. It floats just beneath the water’s surface, luring the lonely with soft cries. No boats dare cross a lagoon once it’s been sighted—those who try find only silence and loss.

One thing I LOVED about Good Boy was the Scottish folklore and mythology and how you wove all that into the Miyagi-verse, and I wondered if you had a list of sources you used, and if so could you please link them because it was so fascinating and I'd love to read more about it myself!!
I am so sorry for the delay in answering this thoughtful question.
I don't get much time with my laptop now that I have created another small human, but lil guy is sleeping at the moment so I have a sec.
Another reason for the delay is that I have been googling, trying to find a good source to recommend for you because unfortunately the real answer to your question might not be much help. Sadly, I can find a lot of single stories, but these are normally for tourism purposes and are centred around locations that can be visited. As a result, you need to know the story you are looking for and the location it is set when google searching. I had no luck finding any kind of centralised database for you.
Most Scottish landmarks will have a legend attached to them, so there is A Lot.
I have scottish ancestry and most of the stories that worked their way into Good Boy are re-mashed versions of fairytales told to me by my great aunt when I was a kid. We are one of the thousands of offshoots from the scottish disapora. So I know her versions quite well.
(but she took a lot of liberties with her versions, as all good storytellers should.)
So in compensation, here is a scottish fairytale that nearly made it into Good Boy. I tried to hard to finagle it in, but it wouldn't quite fit. however, it is one of my favourites.
