Scott’s® Emulsion Momazing Campaign
Some of you might have seen some photos which I shared on my Instagram and Facebook page last week, about a Scott’s® Emulsion media launch which I attended. Huge thank you to Scott’s® Emulsion and Nuffnang for the opportunity to participate in this launch specially for selected Mummy bloggers!
If you’re wondering what I’m talking about, just read till the end. I have some exciting information to share (read: prizes to be won)!
I’m sure all of you are familiar with Scott’s® Emulsion. I took it regularly when I was growing up and let me reveal something peculiar - I actually liked the white emulsion, compared to the orange one, even as a kid!
A trusted brand over 80 years in the Malaysian household, Scott’s®, which is from GlaxoSmithKline Consumer Healthcare Sdn Bhd (GSK CH) (I learnt something new!), launched a Momazing Campaign, intended to celebrate mothers and their special moments! Together with the other Mummy bloggers, we were invited to participate in their Media Launch last Thursday at Kidzania!
If you haven’t brought your kids to Kidzania, you really should. I was utterly enthralled by the set-up and how realistic everything in Kidzania was! But I digress.
Some photos from my Instagram…
And some other photos of the event!
2. THE PRODUCT - SCOTT’S® EMULSION
When you’re a kid, you trust your parents to give you the best and I always dutifully took my Scott’s® Emulsion because “it was good for me”. Now that I’m a mother, I need to know what “is good for my kid” before giving it to him and I appreciate that Scott’s® spent a substantial time of the event explaining the goodness of their product.
Each spoonful of Scott’s® Emulsion contains cod liver oil, Omega 3 fatty acids, DHA, Vitamin A and D and calcium
Their cod liver oil is sourced from Iceland
A study conducted in 2013 in Malaysia to identify the nutritional deficiencies in children found that half of Malaysia children lack Vitamin D and calcium. Urban kids especially are Vitamin D-deficient
Scott’s® Emulsion can be given to children from ages 1 year old onwards
"Emulsion" means that the cod liver oil is broken down into nanoparticles which makes it easy for your body’s enzymes to act on the molecules. This potentially leads to better absorption as compared to taking cod liver oil in capsule form
Even if your kid eats a lot of Omega 3-rich foods like salmon and takes Scott’s® Emulsion daily, “overdosage” of Omega 3 fatty acids does not cause toxicity in the body
Good stuff, don’t you think?

But…what is a #Momazing moment?
It can be anything - your child’s first word, the first time he learnt to crawl…or walk! When she finally managed to solve a puzzle or when she plays her first piano piece!
To start the ball rolling, I’d like to share with you one of my personal #Momazing moments.
The story may be familiar to some of you who follow my blog. The story dates back to when I was pregnant with Baby Dozer.
Strangely, I was somewhat ambivalent about the fact that I was pregnant. I looked forward to meeting my first child but I didn’t do anything to prepare for the birth. I didn’t visit any baby fairs, I did not go shopping, I assumed that whatever hand-me-downs had been given to me would be enough and I did not bother doing up the baby room.
I lived my life as a single person would, very much self-indulgent and not behaving at all like an expectant mother. Basically, I just went along with the flow. Nothing in my life had changed except the size of my tummy. Oh, and the heartburn and gastric and swollen feet and oversized clothes.
Then, the delivery day came. I didn’t feel nervous at all going into the delivery room in the hospital. Then suddenly, I heard my baby’s cry.
My first words were, “Is that my baby?” My doctor laughed and said, “Yes!”
The nurses brought Baby Dozer to me. He was crying and my heart was breaking. I quickly kissed his head and I asked, “Is he cold? He’s so blue!” They whisked him away and wrapped him up.
Instantly, everything changed. Suddenly I saw everything differently. There was a different perspective to how I thought or felt and observed. It was such a profound moment, so difficult to describe. Perhaps you will know what I mean if you are a mother. It was as if the world had shifted but I knew that that wasn’t the case - it was just me who had changed.
Ever since then, I’ve called the moment MAGIC.
Scott’s® calls it #Momazing.
#Momazing, magical, whatever you choose to call it, it’s that moment that Scott’s® is looking for. So, capture it and submit it!
