There was a long pause as Knockout seemed to analyse the situation. His systems were already tracking Silas’s signal before he knew it, and were he in root form, his smirk would have been insufferable.
:: Dear oh, dear. I’m on my way. ::
::No, no! N-::
Before he could attempt to dissuade Knockout from zeroing in on his location, the officer demanded his phone. One eye twitched and he seriously contemplated going for his pistol. In the end, he yielded and shut off the call before passing it over. “Kid, you know it’s against the law to text and drive, right?”
“Sorry, Officer..” He grumbled out. “What’s your name?” “Tyler,” Silas answered reflexively. But then he paused before quickly adding, “Junior. Tyler Junior. TJ, for short.” “I’ll need your ID and registration.”
Fuck.
“Um... Well, the truck is registered to my dad. I’ll show you.” Moving slowly, he opened the glove compartment and fished out the registration. It was examined by the cop. “And your ID, kid.” Call me kid one more time and I’ll paint the pavement with your brains.. he thought. “I think I left it at my dad’s place.”
He got an unimpressed stare. “Alright, step out of the car. Until we get everything verified, you’re not driving anything.”
