!!! SPOILERS FOR SCREAM, IDK WHAT TO TELL YOU!!!

desc: You've almost made it out of Stu's house, but it looks like someone caught you before you could escape.

You didn’t have any time to find a way out before you almost met the working end of a knife and now, you were locked in Stu Macher’s house without a means of escape, with a murderer roaming around as well.

In the moment, you were hiding in a linen closet— that thankfully had a lock— with barely any space to move, and praying that the door was securely shut. Hearing movement outside, you steadied your breathing and slowly lowered yourself downwards.

You peeked through the door lock, barely having any view of the hallway outside, but held back a gasp when you saw a black cloak sway past. You heard one of the bedroom doors creak open after the masked figure disappeared.

Hearing the door close, you reached up towards the handle of the closet door timidly. Just as you placed your index finger on the metal, you heard more footsteps. Quickly yanking away your hand and pressing back into the closet, you heard someone else pass by. Not the cloaked person, their footsteps were different. You heard the second person quietly creep up to the bedroom door and your heart sank, thinking the murderer had found another victim.

Suddenly, you heard the bedroom door burst open, and you heard a loud crash as one of them moved through the room. But just as soon as they began they stopped.

“For fucks sake!” You heard a loud voice shout. Was that Billy? Sidney’s boyfriend? 

“Aw, geez— sorry, Billy, I thought it was her.” And that sounded like Stu— but why would they be talking casually at a time like this?!

“I told you to go outside and look, you stupid fuck! We’ve already lost track of one person; it’s a waste of time for both of us to be in the house until Sidney’s the only one left.”

Only one left? The realization hit you like a bag of bricks. They were the killers, the ones you’d been running from all night. And you were the one they had lost track of… so what did that mean? They must’ve gotten Tatum, maybe Randy, who else? But you… you were the one person they lost track of.. and now they were hunting you.

You thought of a plan while Stu and Billy bickered in the other room. If Stu were to go outside, there was a possibility you could slip out the door when Billy wasn’t looking… you were a strong believer in adrenaline and, God, you hoped it would work its wonders. Luckily for you, you hadn’t had enough time to drink before you were being chased by psychos, so the brain fog of intoxication wouldn’t be a problem when faced with the need to run. 

Stu muttered something while he walked out of the room, making dramatic, stomping footsteps while he trudged down the hallway. 

“Fucking go already, Stu!” Billy shouted. So much for anonymity. 

Stu hurried at the sound of Billy’s voice and his stomps turned into a sprint. After the front door slammed shut, Billy exited the bedroom, on your right, and made his way further down the hallway away from you, which you could see through the door lock.

He moved into one of the rooms, letting the door shut quietly behind him, and you took the opportunity to carefully twist the door handle of the closet open before quickly swinging it open to avoid any creaking. It worked. The only noise was the sound of air moving, which you hoped Billy couldn’t hear under the fabric. 

You slipped your shoes off, to avoid the sound of the clicking against the floor, and readjusted your socks to minimize the amount of noise you were making.

Carefully, you began making your way towards the stairs, which were thankfully on the complete opposite side of the house than the room Billy was in.

With the stairs in view, you readied yourself to take the first step down when the front door creaked open again. You quickly hopped into the closest available room, which was shrouded in darkness, and heard Stu, once again, at the base of the stairs.

“Which way did you say she went?” He shouted.

“How the hell should I know?!” Billy yelled back. “And will you shut the fuck up?!”

“Yeah, sorry.” Stu shut the door behind him once again. 

It was too late to go down. You had heard Billy leave the room he was in and was making his way towards the stairs, so you quickly backed into the room and felt your way around. You felt the plush of a bed and lowered yourself to the ground to hide underneath it. There wasn’t enough time to hide anywhere else, and turning the lights on would ensure a death sentence. 

But from the sound of approaching footsteps, you feared it may not have been enough. A click and a sudden burst of light into the room was enough to make your heart sink. The bed skirt hid you from the rest of the room, but if he already knew you were in there it was pointless. You felt a cold chill run up your spine as he moved into the room.

His footsteps were light now, barely making noise as he drifted around. You flinched at the sound of a closet flying open. A sigh of disappointment was followed by more footsteps towards the door and the sound of someone exiting the room. The door clicked shut. 

You rest your head on the ground, letting your pounding heart finally rest. The ringing in your ears was deafening, and you weren’t sure where to go from here.

Suddenly, you felt hands gripping your ankles and you screamed, trying to grab the bed frame or the carpet to stop yourself from being pulled out into impending doom.

It was no use, but you did still have one of your shoes, which you gripped harshly in your hand. You turned as Billy pulled you from under the bed and delivered a solid blow to his head using the platform of your shoe, to which he lost his balance and fell over on the ground. You quickly raced to your feet and towards the door, which you tried to open but was locked. Just as you twisted it to freedom, Billy had already stood up and grabbed you by your hair, throwing you downwards.

Only half of your body hit the bed. You felt the wind get knocked out of you and a shocking pain shot up your back. Once you had regained your bearings, you saw that Billy was now squatting next to you, mask off, and he grabbed your head with his free hand.

“You think you’re fucking slick, huh?” He hissed, squeezing harshly. He used his arm to press you against the side of the bed, inhibiting you from moving. You couldn’t even kick him from the way you had fallen, your legs were trapped.

“Billy, please, come on, I had nothing to do with this.”

“You interfered. You got in the fucking way, and you may have just ruined something a year in the making.”

“What the fuck are you talking about?!”

“Nothing you need to worry about, you won’t have a credited role anyway.” He pushed your head upwards, exposing your throat. You began to breathe heavily as he pressed the cold metal against it.

“Please, please, please, Billy, please!” You were trying to think of a way to influence him to not kill you, running through every ethos, pathos, and logos lesson you had ever had. “Ah— I.. I had a crush on you for a while! I thought you were cute, even during everyone’s gawky phase in middle school!”

“Really?” He asked, continuing to watch his knife as he tried to find the perfect spot. “I might’ve taken you up on it if it didn’t end like this.”

“But it doesn’t have to end, Billy! Please!”

Billy stopped for a moment. “You’re right, but what if you tell after all this is over? You just.. let it slip that all this happened?”

“I won’t, I really won’t, I promise!”

He smiled devilishly. “You do?”

“Yes, yes! I won’t say a word, I swear!”

He softened his grasp on you, slightly. “I guess we could make you a co-star or something.”

You felt tears dripping down your face, what the fuck was he talking about?! 

“What’re you talking about?” You said, whimpering.

“We’re kinda... makin’ a movie, Stu and I are,” he said, slowly, methodically. “I mean, I’m basically the one doing everything, so… I could put you in it.”

“What do you plan on doing?!” You said, panicking.

“Oh, honey, nothing you don’t want. I’m not that kind of guy.” He lowered the knife. “Is there something you want me to do?”

“I want you to let me go.” 

“Can’t do that yet. Gotta trust you, and right now I don’t.”

Your breath hitched. “How do I make you trust me?”

Billy chuckled. “I could make you kill someone, but right now, there’s only two people left that need to die. You, and Sidney. And you both are booked. Well, there’s another surprise but that’s for later.”

“Then just leave me in here. Lock the door, close the window, I won’t leave, I won’t fight, I won’t scream, please.”

“I guess I could, you’d make a nice extra or something.”

There was a loud scream downstairs. 

“Fuck you both!” Sidney yelled before slamming the front door.

Billy sighed and tilted his head down. “I guess it’s time.”

“Are you really gonna kill her?” You asked, timidly.

“Yeah,” he laughed a little, “I’m committed now, don’t you think?” 

Billy readjusted his position and lifted his knife up.

“I thought you said you weren’t gonna hurt me!” 

“I never said that.”

“Why?!”

“Well, like I said, I don’t trust you yet, and leaving you all alone in a room that you could leave quite easily is bound to turn out poorly for me.”

You were starting to cry, and he grasped your face again, roughly, positioning you just the way he wanted.

“Billy. Please..”

“Relax, you’ll probably make it until the ambulance gets here.”

You were grasping at his arms, trying to pull him away. Your legs were flailing and your chest was moving rapidly.

He lifted up his arm, holding the knife once again. You swore you could see your reflection in it.

Billy smirked. “If it makes you feel any better, I always thought you were hot.”
