#Inktober #StarshipOblivion Part-27: "I downshifted the ignition, calming the ship's engines to a quiet purr. I flicked a couple of switches, engaging the stealth defenses. Tensing the controls, I whispered, "We need to approach this carefully. Our only chance of invading Starship Oblivion is if we can get to it undetected first. We just need to take our time-" A red light on the console blinked on; I tapped it curiously, "Uh, NightCore, we aren't running low on gas or somethin', are we?" She gripped my shoulder hard, "We've been <ALARM> compromised!" Immediately a scorching red laser blast shot out of Starship Oblivion directly toward us. I pulled upwards as hard as possible, but could not escape the beam's deadly approach. The blast tore through the side of the ship, flooding the cockpit with flames and smoke. Our ship careened forwards, a flaming path of debris trailing behind us. "Hold on tight! This is going to be rough landing!" A blazing DANGER light ignited on the dashboard, and the rear engine exploded, flinging the ship recklessly forwards. Shards of torn metal bounced around the cabin, and a sickening crunch rose above the noise as a pike stabbed through NightCore's visor. "Clyde-I-<FAILURE>-sorry-<APOLOGY>-forgive-me-" I tried to turn back to her, my hand outreached, but was torn away as the ship ripped in half, "NightCore!"
