Six MPs, primarily sponsored by Tonia Antoniazzi (Labour, Gower), have put forward EDM603, a motion "expressing concern" at Amnesty International and criticising them for saying that trans people in the UK are facing growing threat (full EDM linked at the bottom).
There are six MPs signatory to the motion so far: five Labour and one DUP.
The state of trans rights in this country is despicably abysmal, and the fact that some people, including MPs from a party that claims to be progressive (not that any honest person takes that seriously atp), STILL think that trans people have it too good in this country???
Why "gender critical" beliefs are protected under the Equality Act 2010 is beyond me. Why are they? It's pathetic.
Anyway, at the top is a map I made (which I will definitely update, as it's a new motion) showing the constituencies whose MPs signed EDM240, which sought to prevent the passage of the EHRC's transphobia from being put in place (primarily sponsored by Nadia Whittome, Labour, Nottingham East), and those who have either signed EDM603 or withdrew support for EDM240. I labelled it "transphobia", which'd imply the other option is automatically not transphobia; I know it's not nearly that simple, with some people who signed EDM240 still having histories of transphobia, but I wanted to make it simple.
