We all (by which I mean, probably the overwhelming majority of people on the internet between the ages of 13 and 40) know who the main rightwing, extremist, manosphere-y, radicalising, etc forces for young men (at least in the english-speaking world) are, but who are the equivalent people for young women?

I've been stumbling across a few kinda alt-right, ultra-conservative (though whilst often pretending to be leftwing), extremist blogs by young women, and there was one in particular I saw that made me think about this, because I genuinely don't know...

Like, at least to me, and probably the overwhelming majority of people who'd see this, the men grooming young men and boys into rightwing radicalised ideologies are obvious, but I don't know who the equivalents are for women. ARE they even different people?

There are people I can think of who could be examples, but I don't know if I'd be at all correct. The people I can think of, in my mind, tend to feel too niche/specialised in one area, have relatively small platforms, and (to my knowledge) have majority-male audiences.

The only person I can think of that ISN'T those and is definitely one person who falls into the category is JK Rowling; she was very clearly a strong influence on the person whose blog made me even start thinking about this, but I can't think of anyone else with similar such general influence, or even close to it.

Sorry if this is difficult to read at all, I'm awful at wording things in a way that doesn't feel messy and all over the place... Also I feel like there'll probably be some very obvious answers, but I just can't think of them right now whatsoever...

Once i had a teacher who was OBSESSED with

So naturally, every time someone didn’t have a pencil she would charge them 10 house points (which, even in schools where there is an actual house point system, probably doesn’t fucking happen). She openly held the belief that she had to ascribe value to these precious writing implements or else no one would appreciate them, a concept evidenced by, i kid you not, how when homeless people are given houses for free they let them fall into disarray, because they didn’t pay for the house and therefore didn’t care about it. I, a pissed off 13 year old with a vendetta against power hungry teachers and also JK Rowling, brought a 100 pack of pencils to school so that whenever someone had to ask for one, instead of being charged a fictional currency and upsetting their fellow, deeply competitive students, i would just give them one. If the pencil didn’t come from the teacher, she couldn’t charge points for it.

This upset her. She couldn’t assert her power over the 1st period Advanced 8th Grade Math Class anymore. For i, The Pencil Liberator, had come to put an end to her tyrannous behavior.

She told me to stop about 30 pencils in.

Genuinely radicalising that we literally had an emergency alert about the risk of wildfires and Westminster aren't having an emergency meeting about how to rapidly and sustainably reduce the UK's contributions to the climate crisis. Absolutely ridiculous that the best we got was this alert and a ban on disposable BBQs

UK government just used the emergency alert system for the first time to warn us not to have any fires bc it hasnt rained in 2 months and the plants are so dry theyll ignite if you look at them wrong.

Meanwhile the same government is chill with us drilling for more oil and gas in the North Sea apparently.

actually i do think it’s an abuse of the emergency alert system to use it to send out a general PSA about wildfire risk and to tell people to be careful with flames and i hope anyone who’s hidden phone in a abuse situation just got outed by it screeching for basically no reason gets to throw a brick at a government official

My silly (/neg) Tory mayor made a post with a HORRIBLE AI map of England on it, and when people, rightfully, criticised him in the comments, he came back with sarcastic replies such as "will you make the map for me?", or saying that he doesn't have time or the artistic ability to make a map himself.

This map above is his HORRIBLE AI map; there's so much wrong with it that I wouldn't even know where to start.

This second map is one that I (someone with little to no artistic ability) made myself in less than 15 minutes using mapchart.net, Microsoft Paint, and PowerPoint. It might not look the nicest (not that his did either), but at the very least THE MAP IS ACTUALLY ACCURATE. He's a mayor, surely he has the ability to access better tools than I did to make a better map for his post, or at least get someone on his team to make a better, not AI slop map?

(To be clear, I don't know if any of what he spoke about in his post is actually true, and even if it is, I think we SHOULD help areas of the country that receive less investment from the government, but I was just mostly copying what his original post's AI slop made, just without using AI slop. Fuck the Tories. Vote Green (or anyone else on the left who's viable)).

I made a new version more similar to the original. I don't get why he, the mayor of an entire county, or someone on his team at least, couldn't spend like, half an hour making a more accurate version without AI that didn't look so laughably horrible and inaccurate. Again, idk if any of the information in it is actually accurate (wouldn't surprise me at all if it's not), but at least try and come off more credible when you're the mayor of a county... or any elected member of literally any government really, national or local. Not using AI to make your slop-map is one way of coming off as more credible.

parents are allowed to straight-up torture their kids with zero consequences. they can withhold food and water, lock you out of shelter, confiscate your belongings, bar you from human contact, attack and harm you and exert complete control over your physical appearance. and this is just the norm. if you speak out against it you're seen as a delinquent or a predator. even otherwise progressive people get uncomfortable with the idea of dismantling the nuclear family unit because they still see it as the best way to keep kids safe when that simply couldn't be further from the truth. it's evil.

This is also part of why I'm so loud about homeschool reform, specifically in the USA.

In the US, there is no meaningful legal definition for educational/academic neglect in any of the 50 states or federally. What this means is that a child can be "homeschooled" and exclusively be taught how to cook and clean, reach the age of 18 being unable to read, write, or count, and this alone is not considered neglect. That 18yo, should they even have the knowledge that suing exists, has no legal grounds to sue their parents for denying them an education.

In over 40 US states, a convicted child abuser can homeschool their children. So someone who has done time for child abuse and somehow regains access to their child(ren) can decide upon returning home that they want to "homeschool" their kids. Those children are now locked in a home with their abuser where nobody can see them.

There are no welfare checks.

There are no routine assessments.

There aren't even databases — state or federal — keeping track of how many homeschooled kids there actually are.

Meaning a child can be locked in their home for their entire life with their convicted abuser, learn absolutely nothing, never go to the doctor, and so long as that child is fed, clothed, and the abuse isn't physical or sexual, that child has almost no chance of rescue and no legal ground to seek restitution if/when they escape.

The only way homeschooled children get rescued is if they're beaten, starved, or physically neglected and they're able to get the right person to see that. Otherwise? They have to wait until someone finds out they were murdered as a result of their parents "homeschooling".

And feral homeschool parents love to jump down my throat about this, and then get even more pissed when I tell them I'm a homeschool alumni.

Because I know it's not all homeschoolers. But even one is too many, and the lack of protections should scare everyone. If you're a good homeschool parent, nothing will change. If not, you deserve whatever comes your way as a result of adequate oversight.

Children deserve rights.

I genuinely don't think people who say stuff along the lines of "we should have an intelligence test to determine who should be allowed to vote" would be able to pass such a test themselves. If they could, surely they'd see exactly why such a test is an awful idea, and has always been incredibly abused when they've been in place before, most notably (at least to me; there are certainly plenty of other examples I'm unaware of) the Jim Crow era "literacy tests" in place throughout much of the US pre- I think the 70s.

If such a test was in place, it should also mean anyone, regardless of age, capable of passing the test, should be allowed to vote. Something gives me a feeling though that they wouldn't be open to the idea of eight-year-olds for example being allowed to vote, even if they could pass the test.
