Any resources or advice of having an atheist/secular wedding that still treats being united in love with the same reverence of religious weddings?

The religious weddings I've been to benefit from having thousands of years old texts that they use to say very profound things about love and union. But most of the secular weddings have been lacking in....pomp, gravitasse, a sense of deep importance? I guess. Does anyone know of any resources or examples of atheist wedding practices that can still lend a little weight to the event?

We had many goals and ideas for our wedding day — brunch, small-ish guest list and mountain location, to name a few — but number one on our list was an event that really represented and reflected who we are. Anyone have/seen/heard of a totally secular wedding ceremony that still appeases religious extended family? Fiance and I are meeting with our wedding officiant this weekend to discuss our ceremony and I really need to come up with things I'd want that totally don't include Christianity at all but don't really bother fiance's Catholic extended family either

Although we’re both non-religious, Jacob is ethnically and culturally Jewish, and my parents are... too Cathoic to grasp the concept of an “Ethnoreligion” so what we wound up with was a wedding which was secular, but borrowed not only from Jacob’s heritage, but also from my parent’s religion.

We worked in a Unity Candle, though it’s not strictly a Christian thing... but Catholics LOVE candles. The Chuppah, besides having a nod to the Command Center from Power Rangers, was designed to evoke a wedding arch as well. To structure the wedding we used the Catholic “Order of Ceremony,” subbing in secular readings and such without prayer. At the reception we let my mother say grace over main course as a counterpoint to his mother and aunts singing the blessing over the Challa bread.

All in all it worked out into an interesting simultaneously secular and interfaith affair which satisfied everyone.
