contrary to popular belief, i didn’t cut my hair short to look more androgynous (although that has been an interesting side effect)

i cut it short because long hair, as pretty as it is, is also god-awful to care for and honestly, i decided it wasn’t worth the trouble anymore

it’s strange now. i’ve never had hair this short, and i do regret it sometimes. i know i can grow it back if i want to, but that will take years now. so i’m getting to know my new appearance, and even growing to like it. even if i don’t fully recognize myself in the mirror anymore.
