#Repost @autismsupermoms with @get_repost ・・・ Good morning everyone, If you’re a member of the support groups, today is self-care Thursday when we post an article to discuss a topic related to mental and physical wellness, including: anxiety & depression, good nutrition etc etc, as well as the obvious Supermom topics such as the need for respite, time to relax (and do something we love), and the dreaded sleep issues. Time to focus on OUR caregiving for a change and how we can do better! Sometimes it’s all too easy to get so caught up in the daily shenanigans of parenthood and caregiving, that we forget to do the simplest and most basic of things for ourselves. Time just flies when you are super-busy and I understand that fully! I know that self-care is easier said than done. The bottom line is that WE matter too and we are useless to our ASD loved ones longterm if we don’t take a little time to take care of ourselves or get a break for ourselves. Self-care does not have to be some elaborate, fancy or unaffordable thing either; I sometimes do something really basic that takes just 10 minutes, like making a green smoothie, for example.
