Spikey Animal Fidget Toys price: 0.80 Where to get it: https://www.stimtastic.co/stim-toys/spiky-animal-fidget Review: Today's review is spikey animal fidget toys. I personally really like these. This type of fidget I find very helpful for picking. You can dig your nail in and pick at the root of the spikes, it helps distract from picking at other things (like scabs, nails, and what not). The texture is also very calming and satisfying in my opinion. There is no chemical smell, it's made with good materials. I love the bright colors and cute little animals (the cattipillar is by far my favorite of them all because its the biggest and best shape in my opinion). Spikey animal fidgets are perfectly quiet and easy to hide, it's good for in classrooms and other such situations. With a price so low I highly recommend. If you have any questions about the item feel free to msg me. (If you purchase these, you tell them which ones you want at checkout.) Stimtastic.co , the company I bought them from, is a great company. They have a wide variety of fidget toys and chewlery at very affordable prises. One stop shop for your personal sensory needs.
Tips for People with Sensory Issues
Ok, disclaimer: this might not apply to everyone specifically, but this has helped me a TON with sensory issues and avoiding them. Easy fixes for the most part, mostly free, and the others are super cheap.
Sunglasses are life. Get you a pair of cheap sunglasses and be a Cool Joe and wear them inside and outside if it’s ever too bright. It helps.
You probably already know this one, but earplugs are good. Some regular Silly Putty is better. Spread it across the opening to your earhole but DO NOT jam it inside. Please. For the love of all things holy. If you want it to be discreet, try to find some that is the color of your flesh, so you don’t just have bright blue ears or whatever.
Cut out all the tags on your clothes. I’m not joking. If they bother you at all, they are gone. Turn your socks inside out so the fuzzy part is on the outside. This way, you can have the smooth part without the seams on your skin, and the weird bad part against your shoes. Wear cotton, or other natural fibers if at all possible, and avoid scented laundry detergent. If your shoes bother you, change them to something more comfortable or put some insole supports in them. Make sure they support your feet properly.
If your hair is too long and you want to get it cut, or cut it yourself or whatever, they have scissors that don’t make the weird snippy sound and are actually quiet. Find them on Amazon and save yourself from sensory hell. If you need it to be long, but hate the feel against your neck, high ponytails and messy buns for the win. If the feeling of a hair band is too tight, go for a fabric covered scrunchie and do it more loosely. Use shampoo without sulfates if the foam bothers you, and if you don’t like to comb it because that hurts or something, just get some good leave in conditioner for your hair type and rake through it with your fingers. Ta-da! It looks neat and you don’t have to worry about brushing it as much.
Speaking of hygiene, if certain perfumes or all fragrances bother you, you can still be clean. Get unscented deodorant, shampoo, soap, etc. You will still smell clean and not sweaty and stuff. Without all the perfume.
Teeth! Oral hygiene is super important. What you want to do is to find a post surgical toothbrush, a kids toothpaste that is not minty or extremely sudsy, floss sticks for kids, and a fruity mouthwash. You can water down the mouthwash. This will all help with minimal gagging, the weird feel of bristles, and having to floss with your fingers in your mouth, which is BAD.
Okay I can’t remember what else I meant to put so just. Have this I guess. Yupperoni. Have a great day guys!!!

Bad Smells

Any one with experience with weighted blankets
Im looking into getting one for my Boy. He really likes this old blanket of his that's really old and smelly but super comfy because of the heftiness of it. He's having trouble sleeping under our regular comforter (I'm kinda guessing here but I think it's not heavy enough to soothe him to sleep) So, anyone have recs for what kind/brand I should get? Are there ones without the weighted pellets? (I can see myself and the Boy getting annoyed by the texture of the pellets in the blanket) I know they're expensive, so I'm willing to save up. If you have anything to say about weighted blankets, please feel free to weigh in
I am decked out to the nines today. Got my favorite fluffy sweatshirt, my sunglasses, my earbuds, fingerless gloves, a Kryptobite, and my TangleToy.
Let’s start writing!
So myNoise is officially the best thing I have ever come across for anxiety. I tend to like lower, bassy, “brown” noises but most noise apps are only white noise or very rich in tenor so I never found relief from them...this one lets you adjust it to your likes. It has all kinds of noises for you to mix and play around with so it’s not just static, and it’s fucking awesome.
I just had a really bad sensory overload/dissociative anxiety attack where even music that normally helps was driving me nuts, and this knocked me out of it within a few minutes after I had tried so many other noise generators. It even blocked out the noise of a before-class lecture hall when 100+ students were all talking loudly. Shit’s great.
I know this sounds like I’m paid to say this or something but I legit just found this and wanted to share because it worked so well for me. I know a lot of you deal with anxiety and sensory disorders, and it has sounds to drown tinnitus for any sufferers out there, so hopefully this can help you guys too!
