A/N: As soon as I saw this request in my ask box, I knew I had to answer it ASAP. I genuinely love analyzing characters, especially when it comes to love languages and behavioral aspects!! This was so much fun to write, and I added in Zack as a bonus
Sephiroth
Sephiroth isn't necessarily interested in a relationship.
He would find them slightly... time consuming and kind of... worthless(?) at first
BUT, if he were to be interested in one, he probably would have a specific type unintentionally
Sephiroth would want someone who is quiet, just like him
Also, someone who isn't too needy because he more than likely won't be home often
He doesn't realize it, but his type would more than likely be someone who's shy and kind of independent
He isn't necessarily interested in taking care of someone, or someone taking care of him
It's similar to a type of business agreement in his eyes
Is he capable of loving? Of course
It's just the matter of opening up about everything and making himself vulnerable enough to show some more emotion.
It takes a lot of time together and lots of convincing and talking for Sephiroth to agree to a relationship
His type would be a shy but independent person, and someone he'd feel comfortable venting to
So that means you'd have to be a good listener!
And probably impervious... His stories and venting could get slightly intense and overwhelming
Sephiroth knows there's boundaries, but there are some instances where he slightly crosses it without realizing
Overall, he doesn't expect much when it comes to looks.
I mean, he is kind of the most odd looking one out there
He isn't necessarily interested in the color of your hair, your face shape, your eye color, all of that stuff
He just wants someone he can feel safe with
Genesis
Genesis definitely wants a significant other who is just like him
Extroverted, into literature and poetry, sassy
But he also wants someone who he can slightly depend on
Someone who is kind-hearted and socially aware, and probably a lot nicer than he can be
Genesis has a lot going on in his life
He's finding out all these secrets, he's fighting battles not worth fighting, he's feuding with Sephiroth
His depression is probably spiking at certain times
He needs someone who's patient and caring
He won't show his real self at first, he's quite hesitant with placing his trust in anyone
Much like Sephiroth, he needs to be slightly convinced that you're worth putting his trust in
After finding out what he is and what the scientists did to him, he knows he'll need someone who understands, whether or not you agree
He won't ask you to come with him or fight with him, he knows that you wouldn't agree with his methods
But he wants someone who will at least understand why he's angry
Realistically, Genesis will say "Looks don't matter," ...But they kind of do
He isn't necessarily going to reject someone if they don't fit what he wants, but he does have a preference
He'd want someone who's blond, maybe light-eyed, someone who looks similar to Minerva
But it isn't required
Especially after he opens his "book clubs"
After meeting different kinds of people, he opens up to mostly anything
Fortunately, this allows him to separated his love life from Loveless
Angeal
Out of the three SOLDIERs, Angeal is the most open to a relationship
Even though he doesn't have the time for it, that doesn't mean he's closed off towards the idea
Angeal is a natural care-taker, he enjoys taking care of someone.
Acts of service is 100% Angeal's love language
He's a sensitive and caring lover, someone who wants to love and feel loved
If Angeal falls in love with you, he will 100% be into it and do anything to keep you happy
For a significant other, he isn't picky.
All he asks for is that you're realistic and slightly independent as well
He won't be able to be with someone who is constantly needy or craving attention, because he's unsure if he'll be able to provide that
He doesn't want to dread a relationship, he wants to make a relationship a sacred place for him to be happy
He would also be interested in someone with the same kind of moral stance as him
Going off his “honors and dreams” speeches, he would want someone who upholds the same standards.
It’s important for him that the two of you are mutually understanding, as well as dependable on each other
When it comes to looks, Angeal isn’t interested
He doesn’t care what you look like, because he knows that it all comes down to what’s inside
He wants someone with a good heart
Zack
Zack loves anyone honestly
Out of all of the SOLDIERs, he’s the most open to a relationship.
Mostly because he enjoys having someone around
He likes being happy with other people
He likes being taken care of and he enjoys taking care of people
When it comes to Zack and a relationship, he wants to have a good time
He wants to be with someone who makes him laugh and someone who he can enjoy life with
Expect a lot of hugs and kisses
He will definitely want someone who is clingy and craving attention, because he’s exactly the same
He’s clingy and attention-craving as well, he loves everything about his significant other
But honestly? If you were to be slightly distant and shy, he’d love that as well
Imagine it like a cat-dog relationship, you’re a cat that’s reluctant to opening up, Zack is an energetic puppy
He’d love encouraging you to open up, he’d love to help you and he’d be so happy when you finally open up completely for him
Looks absolutely don’t matter to Zack
If anyone were to have no preferences, that would be Zack
He’ll love anyone, someone who’s the scariest looking person out there, or the cutest
Just as long as you can make him laugh, then you’re golden
Consider it puppy love, but he’ll love you until the end of days.

A/N: hiii I hope you like these headcanons!! I love the concept of SOLDIERs having relationships with each other for some reason hehe anyways, feedback is always appreciated!! Thank you for the ask
You and Sephiroth have had a mentor/apprentice relationship for what felt like years
You went on plenty of missions together (ranging from cleanup crew in the slums to protecting the President on trips)
On this particular mission, you were exploring one of the sectors after hearing about some kind of outbreak of monsters
Throughout your time as you got closer, Sephiroth slowly became more... protective over you
Most of the time, he kept his eyes on you during battle, making sure you were okay
If you had gotten hurt, he'd stop what he was doing and cut down all the enemies in a fit of minor rage
He took care of any scrapes you got, being careful to not hurt you further
You tried to do the same for him, but in the end, his wounds didn't effect him much
There was one particular mission you two had been sent on
Wutai troops had been spotted near the Sector 5 slums and it was your job to "get rid of them"
It seemed like a simple task at first, until you came to realize how outnumbered you were
Alarm settled in your face as you became surrounded, however Sephiroth seemed unbothered
Fighting went well until one of the men got a lucky shot on your arm
At this moment, when you fell, Sephiroth realized one thing
He would lay down his life for you in an instance to know that you were okay
He stepped in front of the man's gun, lifting Masamune quickly and murdering the man with a single swing
Once it was over, he quickly carried you back to the helicopter, using the first aid kit to fix up your arm
Hardly any words were spoken between the two of you, but you knew that something was different
The way Sephiroth's breathing was different, he seemed... Panicked?
You stared up at him in silence, analyzing his features to find out what had happened
But his expression still didn't give anything away
After complete silence in the ride back, you began to fear that maybe you've done something wrong
The pressure began to settle on your chest as the deafening silence went on
Finally, when you landed, Sephiroth turned towards you awkwardly
"Can I... Have a word with you?"
Those few words nearly made you pass out
You basically dragged yourself to his office, absolutely dreading this meeting
Finally, when you two arrived and the doors shut, he let out a sigh
"I've decided that I have feelings for you."
He made it sound like it was a choice, a very calculated choice
You eyed him suspiciously as he began to explain
"After witnessing you get shot, I realized that I would do absolutely anything to keep you safe, and that's number one of relationships, isn't it? I would like to have a relationship with you."
His wording was very precise, as if each word was given second thought
You found yourself falling in love with it though
You smiled awkwardly. "I would like that too."
Your answer was short, but it meant so much to Sephiroth
He let out a sigh in relied before nodding awkwardly, unsure of what to do
After a moment, you let out a laugh and kiss his cheek
Which definitely surprises him
"Come to my place after work. We can have our first date tonight."
Those words may or may not have made Sephiroth's heart flutter
He simply nodded in agreement, watching as you exited the office
It was at this moment, Sephiroth concluded that being in love was a good feeling
