How the Angels Would React to Meeting Your Family
(Emily, Sera, Adam, Lute, Abel, Peter, Pentious)
A/N: AHHH so happy with how many ppl liked my last edition! thank you very much! as always, i'm open to requests of scenarios and characters. Also, I ran out of colors, since most of Heaven is either blue or gold. Sorry!
Emily - 9/10
Okay, Emily is so perfect. Just so perfect. She walks in and immediately asks if this is a shoes-on or shoes-off house. Much like Alastor, she's calling everyone by Mr./Mrs. [Their Last Name] and is delighted if they insist she calls them by something else. A chosen name is something she takes very seriously. Not only that, she'll make an effort to include everyone in the conversation, even bringing up topics that will engage the lesser involved ones.
But that's something to look out for. While she takes respect seriously, she'll also go to bat for anyone being disrespected. Anybody throws an out-of-line comment about anybody else's life choices, and Emily gets scary. Then again, I'm sure some people will appreciate being defended.
The kids love her, also. Specifically the nerdy ones. She has her obscure animal facts, and they have theirs. She'll listen to their infodumping when no one else will, and they dub her 'Pangolin Lady' when they can't remember her name.
Stubborn relatives will resent her simply because they were embarrassed. Everyone else adores her.
"Did you know that the apatosaurus is what the brontosaurus is supposed to be called?"
"That's so cool. They kinda look similar to my favorite animal: the pangolin!"
Sera - 10/10
Sera is very similar to her sister. Very respectful, very warm. But she's less of a conversationalist. Sera brought gifts and was stressing so hard over whether or not your family would like them that she began to molt. She is sweating when you take her over there.
She also becomes quiet and awkward if any debates start. Sera has her opinions and can easily shut them up if need be, but she doesn't want to misstep. However, if she notices your distress, she will absolutely go full-Seraphim.
Your older relatives like her. She exchanges a few recipes and crafting patterns with your grandmother, and she'll compliment the decor of your auntie. Sera fits in perfectly.
"I do love this blanket. Perhaps I can start making scarves for you, dear."
"Please don't. I have too many already..."
Peter - 10/10
Peter, ironically, finds a place with the more handy people of your family. With his knowledge of doors, he becomes the person that they end up calling for any help with home repairs. Initially, he panics, because he doesn't have much knowledge outside of doors. But he learns alongside your relatives, always making a game of it!
Eventually, they start inviting him over just because he's so nice. For once, he feels appreciated. Soon, he finds appreciation with the more nerdy side, too. He will go ham in karaoke if they invite him into their side-room, and they're quick to compare him to some guy from 'Glee'? Oh, well. He's just happy to be included.
"Wow. Your people are so nice, (Y/N)!"
"I'm happy you're happy."
"Your uncle invited me to get beers with him!"
"Don't you like fruity drinks?"
"Well, yeah, but he was so nice."
Abel - 8/10
Abel tries his best to be nice! He wants to make a good first impression, and he doesn't want anyone to dislike him. Unfortunately, that fear petrifies him. Once he's at the dinner table, surrounded by people arguing about things he doesn't understand, he's silent and stressed.
Fortunately, this draws the awkward ones to him. He's invited into the quiet room that the younger cousins will branch off into, and he'll get much more into their activities. Once he's comfortable, he's chatting up a storm and asking for advice on how to beat one of your cousins at Smash Bros.
"What does this button do?"
"That changes the colors of your character's outfit."
"Cool! I want this little angel guy in a yellow toga!"
Lute - 6/10
Lute is...bare-minimum respectful. She's very curt, but she does call everyone by their last names. If anything, she acts like every compliment is a military command. Yet, if you have any veteran relatives, they'll respect that. She has a lot to relate to them about.
She will weigh in on political debates and make them significantly worse, all while you bury your face in your hands. But Lute will have her hand over yours, as if to reassure you. It does nothing to do so.
Lute is a tough lady, and if your family is into any sort of party games, she will get very competitive. She celebrates like an Amazon and gives your younger cousins pointers on how to win against fully grown adults.
"Now, you're small. How old are you?"
"Four."
"Perfect. Stomp on your uncle's toes as hard as you can and push past."
"Isn't that bad?"
"All morals go out the window in the face of battle. Chase that glorious victory, soldier."
Adam - 7/10
Adam is...an interesting case. He very much enjoys antagonizing people, and that includes your family. He initially walks in, calling everyone by their first names. (That is, except, your father. He just calls your father 'bro'). His language is awful, the things he says about women is abhorrent, and your father is not enjoying the amount of '(Y/N) calls me Daddy, too' jokes.
Adam will see this entire night as a competition. He will keep upping his conspiracy theories until your conspiracy-believing relatives shut up. Ironically, this gains him the respect of your craziest relatives, and also your least crazy. The latter like him because he can shut the crazy ones up. The former like him because he matches their energy. If he recognizes anyone's band merch, he'll point it out and go on about how "bitchin'" they are. So, that'll gain him so respect.
Everyone agrees that Adam is batshit crazy, but he sets a vibe. No one can bring themselves to dislike him.
"How can you even believe in birds with the environment being the way it is? They're totally spies."
"Bitch, who said I believe in birds? Do you believe in birds? They've been made up this whole time!"

Pentious - 8/10
Pentious is sweating buckets when you take him to meet your family. He's already gone through flashcards and hypotheticals with his Egg Bois, preparing him for every possible situation. Needless to say, he is stiff when he meets your family, and not in the good way.
He's awkward in discussions, and especially at the dinner table. Where he will thrive, however, is group activities. He's helping to set up video game consoles and to repair any high-tech toys. Once Pentious is more comfortable, he'll end up encouraging the kids to do their best, and they like his dramatics. He gains the name 'Gru' from the kids who don't remember his name.
The pets also like Pentious, and he likes them back. Pentious gains a permanent place as the petsitter anytime someone in your family needs one, and he takes this role with pride.
"Go! Onwards into the battle!"
"Did you just modify a Nerf gun, Penny?"
"Only to further aid your nephew in war. He has the spirit of a warrior."
