fun story: my dad used to travel a lot for his work and when pokemon was first taking off and gripping us kiddos in the 90s, he made sure to try and get us some pokemon stuff.

He tried asking some shop in Asia (i dont think it was Japan) if they had Pokemon and they got really mad at him and made him leave.

May I request some kind of angsty hurt/comfort codependency for the twins? : D

Setting expectations: Not sure how good I am at comfort. The curse is offer was very angst based, but I'll see what I can do.

During the rest of middle and high school, both of the twins have behavior support plans, and a big part of Sparrow's involves the school staff working to give him coping strategies for when Lark is out of the classroom (mostly for when Lark is suspended, either in school or out of school, but also if he's just sent out for the rest of class) to help Sparrow be able to stay in class without his brother.

Sparrow does his part to act like he's learning these coping strategies when they teach them, but the second Lark is out of the room, he has no desire to be able to regulate without his brother there and is happy to spiral until he's taken out of class too. If Lark gets sent out, Sparrow plans to have a meltdown or a panic attack so he can go with his brother (He doesn't have to try very hard to do either, but he's not doing anything to prevent it).

To be honest, none of the kiddads really handle not being in classes with each other very well, but the grade differences can force some level of separation, and by far the twins are the most dependent on each other, so if one of them is being sent home, the other is going to be doing his damnedest to get sent home too, and the amount of times Henry or Mercedes has had to turn around while taking Lark home to go and pick up Sparrow, is pretty noteworthy.

Another aspect of what makes it so easy for Sparrow to spiral, is if a staff member does try to direct him to use his coping strategies? Well...that's just going to remind him of Bear Ry' and just send him spiraling faster.

Entirely possible. I like the "helping Cass by disobeying her" angle best. It feel very "Three Laws of Robotics" if you've read any Asimov. Plus, it would mean not having to retcon anything.

And I like a character who isn't necessarily *nice* but is *right* (shoutout to my fellow fans of Into the Woods). I think she'd lose some of what I liked about her this season if she's just bad.

As someone ALSO playing I Was A Teenage Exocolonist, Vace is so… he’s so terrible but at the same time it’s hard to hate him at times bc he was a child soldier, which is sad, and believes in the propaganda so deeply, but what he really wants is to be an astronaut and Rex once asks “Who could he have been if he weren’t the friend who got away” and the writing in this game is so beautifully nuanced I love it so so much

God right??? Like, there's usually an "asshole one" in games where there are significant dating/relationship mechanics, but this is really the first time I feel like the assholery is... not justified, but like.

The dude's 19, was raised in a death cult, and still has it in him to be a good dad and go to therapy and shit, as long as someone intervenes aggressively enough!!!!

Playing off that last person’s demon trait headcanons for Jodie

Taylor also got the teeth, the reason his braces hurt so much is because he’s got human orthodontics on a demon mouth in a demon jaw.

His teeth are actually perfectly healthy and aligned by demon standards, but they sure won’t be by the time he gets his braces off

YESSS ive seen you talk about that!! i prefer taylor seeming mostly human but i think it is SOOO so interesting to think about how demon physiology could have affected him, especially with his braces like you said or like, his walking if he has more animal-like legs? i tend to headcanon that taylor is a cane user due to Lyme disease (projections and also since Lyme disease can be better some days or worse others, so it would make sense for him to have a sword cane (utterly useless as a cane) as well as a normal cane (cassandra forces him to actually use a normal cane because sword canes are useless)), but i LOVE seeing people put the cane using in conjunction with his demon heritage!!

i like thinking about hermie's demon heritage as well with that, hehe. i like to think that hes always had pointy ears and that her human parents were like "uhhh yeah we dunno what caused that. uh. cover them?" but she thought they were cool and so always wore his hair short so theyre shown off. after he was burned at papa john's, his demon blood kicked in to keep her alive and thats when she started growing a horn and a tail. taylor is FURIOUS about it because HE WANTS HORNS AND A TAIL TOO!!! and hermie just gloats about it even though they dont really want either of them- <- sibling-coded uncle/nephew rivalry my beloved LOL
