A small list of things I have learned
I have learned a bit since coming home for winter break, here’s a small list of some of those lessons
Patience is key, if you want it done right, you cannot rush it
If you want it done on time, you must be willing to work more than expected
A Minor inconvenience is no reason to get angry at others who had no control over the situation
Be grateful for what you have, be proud of what you own, and be thankful for the things you are given
What may seem like garbage to you, may be worth something to someone else, so donate it
Self-care/Taking a break is not the same thing as laying in bed for three days
Taking time to do things you enjoy is always a good idea unless there is some deciding factor that says otherwise
Words are a gift given to us at an early age, use them, and use them well
Words can not only harm but can help, mind what you say but never hide the truth
When moving, try to keep the most important things in a separate container
If something actually does bother you, speak up, do not ignore it
It is okay to be a bit messy, it is not okay to ignore your laundry for three weeks
A family is forced upon you, there is no law saying you must keep them.
Respect is earned not given, and that applies to others, not just you
You do not have to respect your elders if they do not respect you, but that does not mean to be mean and/or hurt them
If someone refuses to listen to you, it is okay to speak up and interrupt. Interrupting is not the worst thing one could do
Controversial opinions should be if pineapple belongs on pizza, and is a tomato really a fruit if it does not go in a fruit salad. Not if people deserve basic human rights and care, and not if other lives are worth more than others based on factors they cannot control.
Lastly, I learned:
Why all my sims get sick from eating fruit cake
Seriously, it’s disgusting
why would people ever make that shit
