Newsies Servant/Farm AU
I’ve done some research into this, might write this, @tophatcat459 seems to like this AU so here we go!
~~
The Pulitzer Manor House is nearby Manchester or Liverpool in England
It’s notorious for its excessive grounds and habit to take in orphans from New York and training them to be servants or outdoor workers
The Jacobs family live in the nearby city but Davey, Sarah and Les all work in the house
Most of the Newsies work on the farm, even Crutchie who does some easier work, which pleases Jack cause he can look after the horses
Weisel is the Butler and the Delanceys are Under Butlers
The ‘Brooklyn’ Newsies are called Brooklyn because they’re found and sent over from Brooklyn whereas the Manhattan Newsies were found in Manhattan
Jack rides around on the horses like in the movie because he’s a cowboy okay
Katherine was raised away from the staff (like many of the children of the masters of the house were)
One day, there’s a party (Birthday or Business or New Years or something) and the Newsies are brought in as extra staff
They haven’t had any formal training so it’s a bit hard
They steal some of the food off the trays their carrying cause most working class people worked hard hours but were underfed
Crutchie gets spotted stealing some food so Pulitzer shouts at him and slaps him
Jack gets pretty angry and walks out with his boyfriend
They obviously don’t walk all the way back to the farmhouse
Jack gets a horse and they ride away in style
Later, when Pulitzer is away in New York for business, Katherine becomes the Lady of the house for the first time
She invites Bill & Darcy over and tries to befriend the Newsies, to no avail
Eventually they actually start to befriend her and she makes sure that they’re work gets easier
She even starts to court Sarah Jacobs
And completely unrelated
Crutchie loves cows, he has heart to hearts with them and loves the calves
Race likes the horses too
He goes riding with Jack to exercise the horses
He practices jumping and one day jumps into the Brooklyn Newsies farm
This is where he meets Spot, throwing bales of hay with those strong defined arms and tanned skin
Race falls off
And makes an utter fool of himself
They meets on Sundays to kiss and talk by the fence
Oh yeah, because the Pulitzers and the Jacobs are Jewish, they spend Saturdays off with their families and the others get Sundays off
But Katherine eventually argues, once she’s befriended the Newsies, to let all the servants (apart from the essential ones like kitchen staff etc) have Sundays off

I hope you enjoyed this! I sure did!
