I am not a great chef. I can barely fill a bowl with cereal. But when Tyler is like "I think it's done" in The Menu, even I am like, "It's been in the pan for two seconds, you are going to give everyone foodborne illness."
The s'mores were probably a mercy, honestly.
Hey I don’t know who doesn’t know this yet but in my experience it’s a LOT of folks so here we go
Hey all! If at the end of a business interaction in which you are the consumer (checking out at the Home Depot, resolving an issue with customer support, etc), you are asked to take a survey to rate your experience
Please, please just do it if you can.
Not only that, but if you are satisfied with your consumer experience
Please
Go ahead and give the highest rating
“But why should I go out of my way to do a corporations research for them for free?”
I hear you asking, because I’m a magical fae creature (queer punk).
Well I’ll
Fucking
Tell you
guys, please be nice to the waitstaff at restaurants (and really any customer service worker in general). the restaurant i work at was so backed up today and i was running around like crazy trying to stay on top of things and some of my customers were so rude to me that i got home and just started sobbing. to name a few, i had a woman who WOULD NOT sit where her reservation was, and blocked our waiting list for 10 minutes arguing with me because she wouldn’t sit there. we also ran out of roll-ups at one point and one man flipped out because we couldn’t get his utensils when we sat him. but i had one woman tell me to take my time and that there was no rush on her table. i almost cried out of relief. please be like the third woman when you go out to eat, please.
Update, 3/16, 8:30 PM EST: We have paused requests in order to take stock of funds and do our best to reach everyone. Please check back at 1
I've shared this with a few people I knew could use it, but seeing that most service workers are in the same situation, I'm sharing this here in case it can help anyone else out who's living paycheck to paycheck and their livelihood is being compromised 💗💗💗
You know how you *should* tip at a restaurant. You should tip your delivery people. Especially during this pandemic. Our delivery platforms don't pay our gas, wear&tear on our vehicles, oil changes, the hassle of locating you if you/GPS give crap directions.
We're risking our health & wellbeing to make sure you're being taken care of to the best of our ability.
The *least* you can do is tip us & give us a good rating. Please do not rate less than the highest number available, your 3/5 might as well be a 1 with how corporate evaluates ratings.
One fun thing about getting a service industry job is that it’s utterly broken my ability to just Be a normal customer. Like my brain cannot comprehend being on on the served side of the interaction and I keep on using my Guest Service Script at completely inappropriate times. When a cashier rang me up I just stared blankly at her for 5 seconds because like. she was supposed to leave? that’s how this situation Ends. A lady handed me my bag of groceries today and I, visibly alone, went “We’ll see you again soon!”
