DIY chip bucket

I love this idea for serving chips! I spotted this at Bimbo's Cantina on Capitol Hill (awesome happy hour--a good amount of food for $15).

Materials -Metal bucket--if you don't have one, Lowe's has 'em (or your local hardware store) -Paper liner--you can get these restaurant ones from a restaurant supply store, but I'm curious if it would be cute with newspaper -Chips! Variation For something more feminine/cute (especially if using newspaper), you could cut the liner with some scallop-edge scissors.

Operation Scantron

This past Tuesday a few people from the LounGe went out to the Old Dominion University Campus in Norfolk, Virginia to hand out free scantrons. For those who don't know what scantrons are, they are sheets of paper that allow students to bubble in their answers, while teachers can simply put them through a computer to grade the papers.  It's a more time efficient way to give exams without all the manual grading.

When I was at school, these were given to me on the day of the exam, but apparently, students now have to pay for these sheets of paper. With this necessity, we spotted an opportunity to serve...provide students with free scantron sheets! We ended up setting up in the Webb Center, which is like the "commons" area and gave out scantrons to students who passed us by.

Along with the scantrons we attached our "You Got Served" cards to give our recipients a chance to respond to God's love.  It was a great day and it looks like this may be something we will do again come spring semester!
