I’ve been experiencing some major anxiety these past few days. I did however, have a breakthrough at 2:14 this morning... I woke up in a full sweat with an anxiety ridden mind & stomach. I tried pushing it away but it would not relent. I decided to drop into my breathe & pray. The feelings eventually passed & I drifted off to sleep. In this morning’s meditation, I was encouraged to bring those anxious thoughts to the forefront & work my way through. It was incredibly difficult, but the grip was loosened & relief arrived. There are so many tools to help us navigate through; the important thing is to realize who we are at war with. WE are not our thoughts, feelings or emotions. WE are the observer of them & can learn to not be swept away by them. This takes time & practice, but it is attainable. Practicing loving kindness towards ourselves is a good place to start.
