So, Johnny Depp gets treated badly while AH is given sympathy for being an abusive woman and cutting his finger?
Never, have I been so ashamed of being a woman. I’m sickened and disgusted. I’m sending well wishes to Depp, who is apparently in hospital after suffering a heart attack.
feminist272 domestic abuse isn’t just women, men are abused too by their partners or husbands. Also, it just shows what a feminist you are, by saying I should kill myself and deserve to be raped for liking Sebastian Stan, Jeremy Renner, Chris Evans and Anthony Mackie.
Stop appropriating the word ‘mantra’ to sound woke
This an example of the posts I keep seeing. Random affirmations are being labeled as mantras. Phrases like that ^ are not mantras!
Mantras are sacred phrases, words, or syllables in Sanskrit/Hindi that are repeated for spiritual purposes in Hinduism and Buddhism. They’re ancient, you can’t just create them. “Om” is a common mantra.
And I’ll address the second definition of the word mantra used in the west too. It’s not saying that affirmations or just any phrases you repeat are mantras. That definition is talking about a narrative being common, as the example sentence shows. If you’ve ever seen it used in writing you’d know this too.
I’ve seen “mantra” being described as a motivating chant multiple times now and that’s really not what it is. If you don’t want to call affirmations by that name that’s fine, but don’t appropriate religious terms instead. Mantras are sacred and established. And they aren’t motivating, they traditionally help you focus your mind and reach a higher level of consciousness. If you call your affirmation a mantra you’re just disrespecting the word itself and religious culture it’s important to, which mind you has already been stolen from plenty.
Setting definitions straight
To follow up on a recent post I made:
Bisexuality - a term clearly defined in the Miriam Webster dictionary as "sexual and/or romantic attraction to both men and women." The binary nature of it, "attracted to two" is literally in the name; the prefix "bi" meaning two.
Pansexuality - defined as "not limited in attraction by gender identity, gender, or biological sex." Sometimes simply stated as "attraction to multiple genders." The prefix "pan" means "all", or "any". Pansexuality therefore is attraction to more than simply men and women - it includes people who are non binary, third genders, agender, intersex, and so on. There is some slight variation in these attractions across the individuals who identify as it, however; all share the simple fact they are attracted to more than simply the male and female binary.
Now as for the term queer? Truly an umbrella term for identities that are not as well known; or even don't really have a name. A fluid label that means something a little different for anyone who identities as it. A slur that many have chosen to take back; and is now used by people of all orientations who feel that they want a label that includes their fluidity. A pansexual person can totally call themselves queer.
So here's the problem - unfortunately all other orientations besides straight, gay, or bi; are often intermeshed with and confused with bisexuality. And vice versa. Bisexuality in particular has recently become used as an umbrella term; a blanket label for all types of attraction outside of strictly gay or straight. This is innacurate by definition and it also causes erasure of the more "obscure" sexual identities I've been referring to - like queerness.
So, someone who says they are attracted to multiple gender identities, and are therefore NOT bisexual; is correct. And their decision to identify as queer? Entirely valid, and does not harm the bisexual community.
In fact, it brings awareness to queer identities outside those more commonly known about.
These vicious rumours floating around about me being entirely made up of nose hairs are simply unfounded! I am also pubes, goddammit!!
EXCUSE ME but tippy was only in saginaw for like three months of his junior hockey career
There’s something I’ve been meaning to say for a while. I’m freaking out a bit inside sharing this, but here goes...🙃
I’m here to enjoy beautiful, inspiring, funny things. That’s what Tumblr is for me. On top of that, I’ve met some wonderful, amazing people that I can call true friends.
Tumblr is for things I like, objectively, regardless of personal details. I collect things I like on my page. So, in short, if I like something, I’ll share it, like it etc. Yeah, a pretty radical thing apparently. That’s what I’ve always done and I see nothing wrong with that.
If I miss things because of Tumblr algorithm, or share something someone doesn’t agree with, I cannot control that and there’s nothing personal. Tbh I’d like to share even more at the same time if possible, but I don’t want to spam people’s feeds either.
I am as objective as I possibly can be on this platform. There’s so much wonderful content here that I want to collect and keep in one place - curate essentially - that I need to do that objectively.
Remember this about yours truly, please.😅♥️
Steps down from soapbox.
