Hello lovely ones and fairy folk. Today is day 9 of #marchmeetthemaker by the fantastic @joannehawker and today's prompt is Trial and Error. A perfect prompt for me to tell you about my attempts at soldering recently. I have been through practically every craft it is possible to do in one’s own kitchen. And a few that are probably not really advisable in a kitchen; glass beads for instance. Holding the blowtorch wrapped in a towel (it got real hot) between your knees while forming glass beads could have turned out dangerous. As it happens both me and the house got out unscathed. I have some sweet little beads as testament to a short lived ‘hobby on a whim’, and all the equipment that is required, should that whim ever return. About the same time, but with a smaller blow torch, just your regular kitchen, melt the sugar on a crème brulee, type of torch, I played with silver jewellery making and had lot of fun soldering rings and pendants etc. whilst building up another selection of tools and equipment. Hello Lovelies Today’s prompt in #Marchmeetthemaker is ‘start the day’. I am not the world’s most organised person that’s for sure, but I try and plan my days and weeks, setting myself goals. Not so much deadlines as once I give myself a deadline, I find I can’t do anything on that task until right up to the last minute. Not a useful trait, but one I know I have so I work around things by setting goals I’d like to achieve. Anyway, my morning begins with tea in bed, then walk the dog, followed by more tea and getting out my Bullet Journal and ideas book and making a bit of a plan for the day. And also checking for tasks that need doing so I don’t forget them. I really enjoy making books and if I could find the dot paper in the right size, I would make my BuJo, but instead I settle for covering it. I have used this lovely pink flowery material for my current one. I have staged these photos as you can probably guess as I have cleared away a bit of the mess. But to be honest it was really nice using a china cup and not being surrounded by clutter. I think I will keep it up, at least for a few days. So my plans for this week involve making a porcelain doll and continuing work on #the100dayproject, both of which are sculpting and no sewing involved. I am starting to feel the need to sew, so I have decided to make some Blythe clothes as well this week, while I am waiting on clay to dry and for a bit of gentle evening sewing. I have neglected my poor Blythes for too long. What are your plans for the week ahead? I hope you achieve all you aim for; I shall blow a little fairy dust your way to help.
