Let it be known that I am rewatching Bonesaw577′s run of Jak and Daxter from this year’s Summer Games Done Quick, and that I recommend this run because it is an absolutely beautiful train wreck. I was so happy to have watched this live, because it was absolutely hilarious. This was my favorite run of the week, hands down, and my first real introduction to Jak and Daxter.

We watched the Super Metroid race from SGDQ 2016 today, and it was a lot more entertaining than I expected - we’d watched a four-way Super Metroid Any% race before, so I felt like it’d be kind of redundant, but it was a whole different route and very dramatic. Then Shadey encouraged me to immortalize it in art form.

A couple weeks ago, the amazing "Summer Games Done Quick" charity event, where tons of talented speedrunners show their incredible prowess at completing video games, raised over a million dollars for Doctors Without Borders. For this special Kirblog, I'm joined by two of those runners: Edobean and Tripl3ag3nt, to talk about the speedrunning community, how they first started, their passion for games and why they speedrun, and much more. The runners of the GDQ events are truly some of the most giving and amazing people I've ever seen, so I considered it an honor to speak with these two and pick their brains a bit about the world they're part of.
