Old Games New Reviews #120 - Shadow Complex (original, Xbox 360, photo courtesy of adventureamigos). Shadow Complex is experiencing a renaissance of sorts after 6 - 7 years with its newly released remaster on Xbox One and a beta version of the remaster given away for FREE via Epic Games' website before that (you actually needed a semi decent PC in my experience on that one, i couldn't get any 1 of mine to run it and it was misleading that it ran on OSX...it didn't). Suffice to say, this bummed me out because i was a HUGE fan of Shadow Complex back in the day. I actually was fortunate to play this back to back with Limbo as 2 of the first games purchased on my then new Xbox 360 i finally caved and bought...and absolutely this hits the spot for anyone craving old school action stylized in a newer framework. For those unfamiliar, this is essentially a mix of Bionic Commando action, Metal Gear Stealth, Metroid item and weapon upgrading to get to new locales, and a decent dose of difficulty so you're not too comfortable at any given time. I can't vouch for the remaster but i can say that if you own a 360, this is a no brainer, and if you own an XB1, it's backwards compatible...but why not just go for the updated better looking version?
