Summary: Jace Wayland x lightwood!ftm reader; Reader is pregnant and struggles with how to tell Jace
You’re pretty sure Jace asking you to marry him was the hardest thing he’d ever done; you joked he always did the hard work and you were a little embarrassed how proud you were when you’d watched him walk down the aisle; playfully turning traditions on its head. Being a Lightwood meant you were always going to be a hunter; it was in your blood as much as it was in everyone else’s at the institute; so no one was surprised that despite the usual wedding ceremony, and marriage runes you both carved into each other’s shoulders there was still room to improve of the stereotypes of the bride walking down the aisle since you were his husband as much as he was yours.
That was two years ago and you wouldn’t change anything that had happened since then; or give anything up. You stare down at a positive pregnancy test; apparently the birth control rune wasn’t as effective as Clary had promised. You know no one in the institute cared that you had transitioned; they didn’t know the details and they didn’t need to; all they cared about were that you could still hunt. Looking back down you realize this might be something they care about; if only for the fact they’re losing out on you being a hunter for at least a year. If not longer depending on how everyone feels about babysitting. You chuckle a little at the idea of your brother and sister becoming an aunt and uncle; or them babysitting.
You don’t know how you managed to keep it a secret for so long. You really do think it probably helps there’s been a rise in demon attacks. You try not to be too conscious of avoiding hunts; of trying to make ti obvious something was wrong. Isabelle and Alec already knew; and you knew they were trying to keep you out as much of the actual fighting as possible.
At least the excuse they were coming up with was your anniversary with Jace was coming up and they didn’t want you getting banged up to ruin whatever he had planned. Which is how you find yourself sitting with Alec struggling to try and explain why you need him at the next doctor's appointment; the one confirming you’re actually pregnant. You’d been going to a doctor that Alec had found; one who was aware of the Shadow hunters; aware of you, of what having children would mean for you; who wouldn’t flinch at any runes you had on you. He’d even added a few of his own; health and protection he’d said. They were small; easily hidden by your regular clothes; not that jace even seemed to notice them.
“Did you figure out how to tell him?” Isabelle nods and you grin at her.
“Yeah I’m just going to come out and say it.”
“Really you’re hitting him with the double whammy of ‘i’m pregnant and it’s twins’ You sure that's… Simon no! It’s Y/N… he’s… Do not say a word; why are you here..”
“There’s a higher demon; well signature of one; we all have to go… Sorry Y/N can’t give you paperwork today.” Simon grins; clearly already having accepted he’s going to be an uncle. He looks a little relieved and you wonder if he and Isabelle have ever talked about kids; Jace and you had, but it had been a quick conversation; a nice thought for when the threats were taken care of. Not now, not when there was a risk of a higher demon being around.
“Is everyone ready?” Jace shouts; making sure everyone has their weapons out. You’re towards the middle; you know Simon and Alec had collaborated to make that happen; you also knew Jace had no idea; so when you all run in to jump into the main fight you try your best not to be too nervous at the demons that seem to have no end.
“What the fuck were you thinking!!???! Why the fuck would you try to…” Simon grimaces as Jace snarls at him; clearly annoyed he’d jumped in front of the blast.
“Y/N can take care of himself; you know you can’t handle something like that..”
“Yeah but like I’m going to take the blame for all three of them getting hurt.” Simon snaps and his eyes widen.
“Oh fuck Y/N I’m so sorry; I didn’t…”
“No it’s fine; pretty sure you finally got your wish; he’s shut up for once; might even be speechless.”
Summary: Heidi makes Simon feed on you, his human ex-girlfriend, and now he has to tell you the dark truth about himself.

(you can like it and save it for later!)
“What the hell is a bleeder den?”
“Shut up, Mundane,” Heidi snaps at you, her pocket knife still resting against your throat as she faces Simon, “You look thirsty, Simon,” she says observantly.
Simon’s eyes were pinned to you as you sit still at the opposite end of the dining table.
You’d sat through Heidi telling you he was a vampire and how he’d turned her, and yet, there was no change in your expression. You weren’t looking at him like the bloodthirsty monster he was.
“I bet you’ve been dying to taste her,” Heidi growls, looking down at you with hunger in her eyes, “See, even though Simon broke up with you once he turned but he never stopped loving you,” she says in annoyance, “I bet even when he sleeps he dreams of feeding on you. Isn’t that right, Simon?”
Simon tenses, turning away from you. Of course he’d wanted to feed on you, it was the reason he’d broken up with you to begin with. You were the girl he loved and he couldn’t hurt you. He wouldn’t let himself.
Heidi presses her blade into your neck and draws a small line, letting blood trickle from your neck to your collar bone.
Simon growls, “Stop,” he says, as though he’s in pain, “If you hurt her-“
“You’ll what?” Heidi cackles, “We both know you won’t kill me.”
“I will if I have to,” he says lowly, rising from his seat and throwing her against the wall in a blink.
You weren’t tied up but you couldn’t move as you watched them – each moving at super human speed, as though each blow didn’t even hurt.
When you finally rise from your seat, you feel Heidi being thrown against you. You both hit the wall and sink to the floor. She’s the first to rise, this time with a cruel grin on her face as she studies you.
And you knew why.
You could feel the blood dripping from your forehead and your nose – the tiny cut on your neck seemed insignificant now.
Heidi steps out from the middle of you and Simon, letting him inch closer.
“Run,” he tells you, trying to restrain himself.
You get up but Heidi grabs you by your shoulders and throws you into Simon, whose arms snake around you within seconds.
His bite hurt, but the rest didn’t. Even as he drained your body. Even as you began to fall limp in his arms… you couldn’t feel a thing.
Just as your eyes begin to close, you feel his arms let go of you. You look up at a dark haired girl who rests you on the floor, hovering over you with a concerned look, “We have to get her to a hospital. She’s barely breathing.”
“Isabelle,” Simon says, shaking his head in disbelief at himself; disgust.
From behind her, you could see him staring at you, reeling in terror with tear filled eyes.
“Simon,” you croak.
“I’ll get her out of here,” Isabelle tells him, “Jordan will get you to the hospital. It’ll give you some time to calm down.”
You’d ended up in the emergency room a few times – accidents of your own making – but when you wake up this time, you’re in a separate room, far away from the noise of the ER.
Simon shoots up as soon as he notices your eyelashes flutter slightly.
“Hey,” he says softly, resting a hand over yours.
Just one look at his face told you he’d been crying for as long as you’d been passed out. His eyes were bloodshot and puffy as he looked down at you.
“I’m okay,” you tell him. It only took you a second to remember what he’d done – to feel that… fear. But the warmth of his hand on yours was too familiar to pull away from. Even as you looked at him, you couldn’t see the vampire that had fed on you, only the boy you’d loved for years.
“You must hate me,” he croaks.
“No,” you say, shaking your head, “Simon, no… y- you-“
You didn’t know what you could say to make him feel better considering you knew nothing about his circumstances.
“How did this happen?”
“I died,” he states with a frown, “I came back to life as a vampire and now I – I need blood to survive,” he mumbles in disgust.
“Y-you died?!” you repeat, tears welling up in your own eyes, “T-this is why you broke up with me?”
“I couldn’t risk feeding on you,” he tells you, “And once I became a Daylighter-“ he pauses, “Once I acquired the ability to walk in the sun, I knew coming to check up on you would put you in danger. Too many people wanted to know how I’d become what I am and they would’ve used you to get it out of me.”
“Wait, you used to check up on me?” you ask him.
“Every day after we broke up,” he tells you, “I was all alone. You were all I could hold on to.”
You nod slowly, letting it all soak in.
“If you’re angry-“
“I’m not,” you promise him, “Simon, you died,” you sigh, “And I couldn’t even be there for you. T-this thing that you are… it’s not your fault. I’m not mad, I understand, okay? I could never hate you.”
You weren’t sure you did understand entirely but one thing was for sure: you couldn’t let Simon go again.
Simon slumps in relief, a small smile on his lips as he brushes hair away from your face, “I love you. God, I love you,” he tells you, “But being with me will put you in danger.”
“I don’t care,” you mutter, reaching up to rest a hand on his cheek, “I can’t lose you.”
You wince slightly and Simon guides your hand back down to your side.
“Don’t go,” you plead.
“I’m not going anywhere. I’m going to be right here with you,” he promises, reaching down and pressing a kiss to your forehead.
When you gasp, he pulls away quickly, staring at you wide eyed.
“What?! Did I hurt you?”
“N-no,” you sigh, half laughing, “I just thought that thing on your forehead would blow me away like it did that girl.”
“That only when people try to attack me,” he explains, sighing in relief, “Not just any physical contact.”
“Oh, good,” you mumble, tugging him back to your lips.
Hey guys! I’ve written fanfiction for a while on tumblr, and I’ve also been a big fan of the Shadowhunter show (and books), so I thought why not combine the two?
I do reader inserts, headcannons, drabbles, etc. And I just want you to drop some requests in my inbox! I’m in a particular song mood (especially Ruelle), but that doesn’t matter!
Summary: Just having discovered your abilities as a warlock, you’re still not at ease in the world of magic, Downworlders and Shadowhunters. With Magnus as guidance, you quickly bond with Isabelle Lightwood, who makes it her mission to show you the ‘fun side’ of New York. At one of your night outs, you meet a handsome stranger, who isn’t what he seems.
*I’ve posted this one before, but for some reason my tags didn’t work, so I hope they will this time, because I think it’s the sixth time I’ve tried already.
A/N: Hello there. No, I did not slip into a coma, nor did I move somewhere without wifi (the thought alone makes me shudder). I just couldn’t seem to write this one, and I didn’t feel comfortable posting something I don’t like myself. I had the general idea stuck in my head, but the right words didn’t seem to come out, if that makes sense? Anyways, I’ll stop rambling now, and as always, I hope you’ll like it.
Prompts: “It was a mistake coming here.” – “You know, if you wanted my attention you didn’t have to go to such extremes.” – “You see what I have to deal with every day?”

“I can’t go out wearing this! I have underwear showing less skin!” You almost shrieked when you saw what Izzy had brought you as an outfit to wear on a night out to Pandemonium.
She frowned at you. “Oh, come on. You look amazing.”
You tugged self-consciously at the skirt of the thing Izzy called a dress while looking at yourself in the mirror, and pouted your lips a bit in doubt. You let out a sigh. “I guess I’m ready to go then.” You pursed your lips.
“Can you try to surpass my brother on the enthusiasm scale?” She raised her perfectly done eyebrow.
“I heard that!” You could hear Alec from the room next to yours.
You rolled your eyes and let out a sigh, before putting on a fake smile. “Let’s go party, so you can find some irresistible cute guy and I can go home alone. Yay.” you raised one fist in the air.
She let out a sigh herself. “Good enough for me.”
You walked out of your room into Magnus’ living room, when Magnus noticed what you were wearing.
“You look fabulous.” You tried not to blush, and failed miserably. “You know what would make it better?” he asked as a rhetorical question, and swirled a bit with one hand, making some jewelry appear on you.
“Now you’re ready to go.” he smiled warmly at you.
You looked down in awe to admire the necklace you were now wearing. “You’ve got to teach me how to do that.”
But Izzy quickly took your hand in hers. “Okay, but tonight, we’re going out first.” She dragged you towards the door, not giving you the chance to bail on her before the night out even started.

It was Saturday, and Pandemonium was filled with people. The music was vibrating through your body, the sound muted in your ears thanks to some earplugs as you tried to find a way back to where you had agreed to meet up again with Izzy, in between all the dancing and sweaty bodies, carrying a drink in your hand. The different colored lights were flickering through the dark room, making it even more difficult for you to find your way.
You weren’t really keen on coming at first, much rather preferring to be at home, where it was possible to have conversations without having to yell.
But since you’ve walked through the door of the club, you actually had to admit you were having fun. Izzy always knew how to make you smile, and the alcohol was doing a good job with your mood as well.
“Whoops!” you exclaimed, when you bumped into someone, making you spill some of the liquid out of the cup you were holding, watching it fall on the ground.
“Damn.” you murmured, silently cursing to yourself. But what did you expect when you walked through a club filled with people, carrying a full cup of alcohol?
“I’m so sorry, are you all right?” you looked up to see who that voice belonged to, only to become speechless when you locked eyes with him. He seemed to be mesmerized as well, until you suddenly realized you had been staring at him, so you quickly shook your head to gather your thoughts.
“Oh, uhm, yeah, I’m fine.” you managed to stammer.
He seemed to be way more comfortable in this sort of situation as you, as a smirk appeared on his lips. “Are you perhaps a magician? Because when I look at you, everyone else seems to disappear.” He looked satisfied with himself for that masterpiece, but you still weren’t thinking straight and swallowed hard at his question. Maybe you had had a bit too much of alcohol already. You arched your eyebrows in confusion, before you moved a bit closer towards the stranger, trying not to attract too many people’s attention.
“How did you know?” you hissed, confused how he knew about you, especially since you barely knew about it yourself.
Now it was his time to look confused. “Wait, what?”
As if on cue, just in time to get you out of this mess, Izzy appeared from behind him. “There you are, I thought you—,” she paused when she saw you weren’t alone, “oh,” she added when she recognized him, “Raphael.”
“Isabelle.” He said, in the same bored tone as her.
You quietly sipped from the remaining alcohol in your cup while watching the interaction between the two of them. “So I guess you two know each other then.”
“We know each other,” he affirmed, still in a lightly indifferent tone, “but I still haven’t had the pleasure of learning your beautiful name.” He added in a warmer tone, using his most charming smile.
“Y/N.” you answered warily, his words not really getting through to you.
Unaware Izzy was staring at you, fixating her gaze alternatively between you and Raphael with a smug look on her face, she decided it was time to interrupt. “Well, as beautiful as that name is, I’m really sorry to have to say this but we have to go.”
“What? Why?” You raised your eyebrows because you were actually having fun for once.
“Alec called, something’s wrong and I have to be there.” She saw your questioning look. “And I promised to get you home safely.”
You let out a sigh, disappointed, and turned back your gaze at Raphael. “Guess that’s my cue to go. It was nice meeting you, Raphael.”
He gave you a warm smile. “The pleasure was all mine. Until we meet again.”

Izzy had managed to not bring it up while walking you home, but when you almost reached your destination, she couldn’t resist it anymore. “So… What was going on there?”
You looked at her, confusion written all over your face. “What? Where?”
“Oh, come on, Y/N. Raphael was all over you.” She said it like it was a known fact, which it wasn’t. At least not for you.
“No he wasn’t.” You said incredulous.
She gave you a stern look. “How can you be so oblivious?”
“He was just being polite.” You stated. “I accidentally bumped into him.”
She raised her eyebrows and gave you a smug look. “Trust me, I know that vamp. And he was totally flirting with you.”
And even though you still wouldn’t admit it, you couldn’t help but smile at the thought of it.

“That was my blanket, but thank you for drooling all over it.” You talked to the cat like he would talk back to you, as you came back from the kitchen with a cup of tea, seeing Chairman Meow doing his thing on the blanket you were previously calling yours.
He laid himself comfortably on the blanket, leaving just enough room for you to squeeze yourself next to the cat.
When you sat down, he stretched his paw onto your lap. You looked at him, but he just looked back at you with the most indifferent look he could give you.
You decided to just turn on the television, so you could finally start watching that one episode you missed by going out the day before, but thankfully recorded it to watch later.
After only five minutes of getting to watch the show, you heard the doorbell.
You paused the show, and got off the couch with a sigh.
When you opened the door, you let out a small gasp when you saw a figure laying barely conscious right in front of the door.
Your eyes went wide when you recognized the person. “Raphael?” You quietly asked, even though you had a bad feeling it really was him.
All you get as response was a groan, and you crouched down to inspect further what was going on with him, just as he opened his eyes with hesitation, having trouble with the movement.
“Y/N?” Your name came out of his mouth as a groan as well. You quickly looked around to see if anyone was around to see you, but luckily, there was no one paying attention to you.
Putting your arm as support under his, you were gladly he seemed to regain consciousness, and got the hint to work with you as you tried to get him inside.
“I thought I was at Magnus’ place.” He manages to get out, as you shoo the cat off of the couch to make room for him. It’s only when you finally get him on the couch you see how severe his wounds are.
“What happened?” You almost yell in shock. You didn’t understand how he wasn’t knocked out, unconscious.
“Some — agh, stupid werewolves.” He let out a hiss of pain when he moved to lay on his back. “Apparently, being the leader of the New York vampire clan makes you very wanted on their ‘to kill’-list.”
You notice his teared shirt and winced. “I’m sorry, but if you want my help, you’ll need to remove your shirt so I can examine the wounds.”
He slowly reaches to pull his shirt over his head. “At least buy me dinner first.” He groans, his body aching from the movement.
“Glad you’re still feeling well enough for some banter.” You inspect his many wounds, and decide the large one accross his chest and abs was the urgent one, but started to panic when you realized you had actually no idea what you were doing.
“I’m not gonna lie, I’m not entirely sure what I’m doing here, since I’ve never actually done this and—.”
He cut off your rambling and muttered some encouraging words. “I trust you. Besides, you’re my best chance right now.”
You needed a moment to focus again after hearing those words, but after taking a deep breath, you closed your eyes and hovered your hands above the wound, willing the magic to flow out of your hands, healing him with power you didn’t even knew you had.
Apparently, it took more out of you then you expected. When the wound was as good as healed, you felt yourself weaken, stumbling forward. Lucky for you, Raphael caught you just in time to spare you from an awkward position. Your eyes widen when you find yourself mere inches from his now perfect abs.
Sadly for you, you’ve always had the tendency to make jokes when things got awkward. Which, most of the time, made things even more awkward.
“You know, if you wanted my attention you didn’t have to go to such extremes.”
He didn’t seem to take it as a joke. “Maybe you’re worth the extremes.” His gaze never let go of your eyes, in what seemed like forever. You weren’t sure it had been hours, or maybe just a couple of seconds, because you got lost in his as well.
“It was a mistake coming here.” He whispered gently.
“What? Why?”
“Because now I don’t want to leave anymore.”
You gave him a shy smile, not really sure how to process his words, but he certainly didn’t seem to have a problem with that, as he moved closer towards you, pushing some hair out of your face behind your ear. Your breath hitched in your throat as his hand made contact with your face. He patiently waited for you to make the next move, to let him know this was something you wanted as well.
You slowly moved closer, your gaze wandering from his beautiful dark eyes to his lips, and back, until you were close enough to close your eyes, feeling his proximity as your lips almost touched.
But right before they did, you heard some noise in the hallway, and you quickly pulled back.
“Raphael? What the hell happened to you? You look terrible.” Magnus asked the vampire, who, truth be told, didn’t seem like his normal, poised self.
“Woah, thanks a lot.” Raphael retorted sarcastically.
“And you.” He turned his attention towards you. “I leave you alone for a couple of hours and you managed to find a vampire that’s bleeding. All over my loft, may I add.”
“I guess I’ll leave you to discuss that.” Raphael gave you a sad smile as he stood up from the couch, making his way towards the door. “Thanks for,” he hesitates for a moment, trying to find the right word, “everything.” You just smile as you watch him leave.

You weren’t sure what you were doing here, standing in front of Hotel Dumort. For this reason, you were dreading walking in, as you couldn’t explain why you felt the need to come here.
“Hey, you must be Y/N.” You almost jumped when you suddenly heard a voice from behind you.
When you turned around, you saw a teenage boy staring at you. You frowned, as you didn’t seem to know him. “How did you knew that?”
He smirked. “Raphael can’t stop talking about Y/N, the amazingly beautiful girl he met and saved his life.” You blushed at his words. “Well, and I saw you once with Izzy.” He added.
Suddenly you realized who he was. “Oh, you’re Simon, right?”
He gave you a smile. “That’s me. So, if you don’t mind asking me, what are you doing here?”
You pouted your lips a bit. “Can you believe I’m not sure?”
“Well, if you want, I can take you to Raphael.” You just nod, and he lets you into the hotel. He leads you down the hall, and after taking some turns, you arrive at what seems like a living room. Or, well, whatever it’s called when it’s the living room of the actual living dead.
Raphael’s head popped up when he heard you enter. “Y/N? What are you doing here?” He asked, furrowing his brows in confusion, obviously not expecting you here.
“Uhm…” You hadn’t thought this far ahead, still not sure why you came.
Luckily for you, Simon interrupted you with a little lie. “She came here to check if there weren’t any side affects of her magic.”
“Yeah.” You quickly nodded. “Yep, that’s what I’m here for.”
“Well, I don’t think there’s any side effects.” He answered, still confused.
“If you don’t count the way he has been talking about you.” Simon teased, looking sideways at you, making you blush again.
“Simon!” Raphael sneered.
“Seriously though, you’ve definitely put him under your spell.” This time, he even winked at you, making you laugh a bit at his awful pun.
“Get out Simon!” Raphael quickly yelled before the boy embarrassed him even more. He lightly shook his head when Simon left. “You see what I have to deal with every day?”
You shrugged. “I think it’s kind of cute.”
“Well, I really did enjoyed yesterday though.” He gave you a sincere smile.
You raised one eyebrow at him. “You almost died yesterday.”
“Hmm, I did?” He slowly made his way towards you. “Something else must have happened which made me forget about that part.” He said smugly.
You couldn’t help but smile either. “Something else, huh?”
“Something we perhaps could continue today…” He was still slowly coming towards you, moving closer, inch by inch, until he stood right in front of you.
“Well, where were we last time?” You asked, feeling a sudden boost of confidence.
“Somewhere,” he gently placed his hand under your chin, “right about,” moving closer towards your lips, making you close your eyes in anticipation, “here.” He whispered, as his lips finally touched yours.
"You think you're ready for this," Isabelle stepped forward, face still firm, "but you aren't."
Alec was beside her, and although he wasn't voicing his opinion, it was clear. His arms remained steady at his sides and his eyes didn't avert.
You wanted to laugh, argue, scream... something. But you didn't. Instead, you smirked and turned around. The pair of siblings thought you were walking away, but you rather returned two wooden staffs.
