TMI things that I prefer in the TV show

Let's be honest, in comparison to the books the show was a pile of crap, but it did introduce me to tsc and some things it actually did pretty well. (Obviously, spoilers for the show and books ahead)

Having Clary kill valentine- Although having Raziel smite Valentine was the biggest dosage of karma ever, Clary being the one to slit his throat had much more impact in terms of character growth and avenging the deaths (temporary) of Jace and (not so temporary) Jocelyn. 

Killing off Jocelyn- unpopular, but I liked how they got rid of Jocelyn fairly early on in the show. After season 1 she didn’t assist the plot at all and was frankly quite annoying. Also, her death ment we didn’t have to lose Max Lightwood. 

Getting Alec’s pov for Jace’s death- IT ADDED SO MUCH DEPTH TO THE SCENE GOD- it showed how powerful the Parabatai bond was and seeing Magnus run to a crying Alec broke me a little ngl. 

How quickly Malec was made official- The fact I had to wait 3 whole books until we saw them kiss was just cruel, and in the course of those books we got about 5 scenes of them together. Whereas in the show we got about 7 whole episodes of Alec gay panicking, what more could you want? The wedding kiss was incredible, and focused on their perspective of the relationship rather than Simon/Clary watching from a distance in the books.

More focus on Malec in general- I just really love Magnus and Alec is it a crime to love all the content we get of them? If they hadn’t gotten married at the end of season three fans (including me) would have rioted.

Simon and Maia lasting longer- The writers saw how much potential the relationship had in the books and tried it out, in my opinion it worked?

Clary becoming dark rather than Jace- I understand why this couldn’t happen in the books especially with TDA, but it just made more sense considering Clary and Jonathan were actually siblings. 

Meliorn not betraying the downworlders- A small thing, but in the show Meliorn was introduced as a character to be liked, so having him betray everyone in the last season would have just been annoying.

Magnus only telling Alec about his past- Back to me gushing over malec lmao- In the books Magnus bluntly tells the group about his past at their first meeting, whereas in the show he keeps it a secret to everyone apart from Alec when he is experiencing PTSD. I thought this did a better job of showing how Magnus doesn’t like to talk about his past, and is still a highly sensitive subject for him.

Madzie-  I love her. I wish we had gotten Max and Rafe, but if that’s the alternative i’ll take it!

Rafael and Maryse becoming mundanes- a) it meant Rafael survived b) it was a really good way to show Maryse overcoming her prejudice towards downworlders and mundanes 

Simon’s songs- stream “Fragile world” by Alberto Rosende right now. that’s a order.
