I wonder if Janus’s approach to ‘raising’ Ash is similar to how he was ‘supposed’ to raise his falcon when he was a child (according to Valentine): to make him obedient, but never love him under any circumstances, as a father would a son.

I mean… falcons are birds of prey, right? And Ash is a ‘weapon’ of the Seelie Court (who happens to have wings.)

All I’m saying is I see potential for a callback to this narrative… ESPECIALLY when Ash’s judgement is clouded by his feelings for Dru. (Because ‘to love is to destroy’ and all that.)
