So far everything your au is very Macaque heavy.
Not hate or anything, it's the other anon who keep asking about Macaque and how people would react if "this happend to Macaque" or "if Macaque this"
Just crave some Nuwa stuff! Angst and fluff. Like mostly she just in background reacting to whatever happend to Macaque. I want to know about her and how she it in the poly relationship too!
I LOVE your consept of idea about Mk being Wukong's and Nuwa's child instade of Shadowpeach. Do Mk have some snake feature too? I think it's pretty cool if he have since it could represnted as Nuwa part of being the creation too.
Also how did she and Wukong get togather in first place? What's their story?
Well to start off, Nüwa was born in the chaos realm to Pangu and Huaxu alongside her twin brother Fuxi.
She had a fairly normal childhood (normal by primordial standards anyway).
She and Fuxi were fairly competitive but were still close, just never as close as she wanted.
Out of both her parents she was closest to her father, usually joining him on his pranks (even though she preferred to just playfully tease others) and would go to his world to help him take care of it and the various creatures he created.
She’s very studious and wants to learn everything about everything, with her favorite subjects being astrology and biology.
She was present when Pangu died after overexerting himself to fix the pillar of creation the first time it broke, causing her to be separated from her home, mother and brother.
She created the humans not long after because she missed seeing the faces of her mother and brother (who she had a strong resemblance too), and not long after that she created the colored stones and her five cardinal beasts too protect the world.
The last bit of contact she had with her brother was when he sent her a scroll via astral projection detailing his ideal vision for human civilization, unfortunately she was asleep when he managed to get through so she didn’t get to see him.
The reason she created MK was because when she first attempted to sacrifice herself to the pillar the sensation she felt from it was nothing akin to how primordials believe death to be like (their essence scattering and becoming part of the world around them) instead it felt like she was being forcefully merged with the pillar, and after she avoided this fate by the skin of her teeth, it freaked her out so much that the idea of experiencing it again made her physically sick, and created a replacement.
Nüwa feels extreme guilt for this, and because of it she often doubts her capabilities as a mother. Especially since if not for MK nearly getting buried alive by a rock slide she would’ve continued to deny her maternal love for him.
She becomes more confident in her abilities after Paramita and the rest of her and Wukong’s kids are born, but that guilt stays firmly planted in her heart.
She feels fairly insecure about her status as the most powerful entity in the three realms, because she knows for a fact that she’s nowhere near her father’s level of power.
He created an entire world with multiple realms using various materials and a large amount of chaos energy, and while she is capable of creating anything she can think of she’s limited to the use of clay.
The reason she despises Buddha (and subsequently the entire Buddhist pantheon (with the exception of Guanyin, Jinzha, Muzha and Longnü)) is not just because of his past, but because of the end goal of Buddhism, which is enlightenment through detachment.
This is for a few reasons, firstly they aren’t actually detached from the world, they just attached themselves to it in a different way, Buddha being connected to the three realms is proof of that, secondly she made humans to be social creatures, they were never meant to be alone, not for long periods of time anyway, thirdly it’s an insult to her brother’s contribution to humans, which focused a lot on family unity and community, and finally it spits in the face of her father’s work, because it essentially implies that his world is not worth existing in if one wishes to become enlightened.
She also doesn’t take too kindly to the level of violence and cruelty the buddhas and bhodisatvas are willing to commit against others despite preaching non violence and carrying a holier than thou attitude.
When it comes to her dynamic in the poly, she’s the voice of reason, being the one keeping Wukong and Macaque grounded and keeping them from doing things that would get them in trouble.
Though that doesn’t stop her from joining them in their shenanigans if said shenanigans sound fun/exciting. Or from eviscerating someone for harassing her partners.
During the early stages of Wukong and Macaque’s reconciliation, she acted as the bridge keeping them from falling back into their old bad habits. Often stepping in to stop a fight when it starts.
She’s also both monkeys’ safe space.
For Wukong, she’s his sense of security, he can let his guard down completely with her. That isn’t to say that he’s closed off with any of his loved ones, but for the majority of his life he’s always felt the need to be the strong one, the caretaker, the protector, he always tried his hardest to make sure everyone was safe and even when he allowed himself to be vulnerable around them, he never allowed himself to fully share his burdens with them. This was especially true with Macaque. But with Nüwa, he doesn’t feel that urge at all, he knows that she could kill him if she ever wanted to and if she can kill him then there’s very little that’s actually a threat to her, so he feels completely comfortable letting himself just be himself with her.
For Macaque, she’s his sense of peace, the eye within the storm of his mind. For as long as he’s existed Macaque has been weary of the world around him, and especially of the people, it doesn’t help that his ears constantly give him possibilities of the trouble to come. Heck, before he found out he was trans, he disguised himself as male to avoid getting kidnapped and forcefully married to some power hungry creep. Even when he was with Wukong there was always this sense of weariness as he tended to attract a lot of attention. Nüwa meanwhile has always been straight forward, kind and calm with him, even when he was an active threat to her children. She always did everything she could to make him feel welcome and cared for, even when he wasn’t very receptive. Because of this anytime he feels his mind start to storm, he’d go straight to her and most times just listen to her heartbeat to calm down his thoughts.
Nüwa was the one to encourage Macaque to call her his shùqī and began calling him her Yuánpèi.
Typically in this familial dynamic the Yuánpèi (first/main wife) is ranked above the shùqī (second/additional wife/wives) and has full authority over them and makes all decisions about them and even their children, provided that it doesn’t go against their husband’s wishes, and while this isn’t always a hostile dynamic it’s a heavily imbalanced one.
Macaque and Nüwa don’t have this kind of dynamic at all, viewing each other as complete equals, often handling matters of the family together and relighting tasks to each other based on capability (ex Macaque being in charge of training the kids while Nüwa is in charge of teaching them).
The reason they use these titles is that it acts as a statement on Nüwa’s part. It’s her way of indirectly telling others “he is my equal, he is NOT beneath me in any way”. It’s the same reason she exclusively calls Wukong my king when among celestials after they got together.
Speaking of them getting together it was actually a strangely simple situation, after fighting each other for MK for roughly three months, and nearly losing him to a rockslide they caused, they agreed to raise him together and live together under the same roof to make the process easier. Over the course of a year they grew close and saw parts of each other that they’d never shown anyone else (aside from Macaque in Wukong’s case) and then one day they realized they’d fallen in love and decided to become mates then and there.
They didn’t bother with a courtship because by that point they were living together, raising their son together, have been in each other’s nests, and have done everything you’d typically do for your intended while courting them, so they saw no point to it.
Yes, MK does have snake features.
In his base form he has a set of retractable venomous fangs.
And in his primordial form he also has snake eyes and a snake tail with golden scales.
He can also bring those other features forward in his base form, much like how Nüwa can shift her tail into a pair of legs in her small form.
He also has the ability to safely unhinge his jaw and has an expandable stomach.
