My family has been less and less inclined over the years to do Birthday stuff. Used to be on the Sunday close to your birthday mom makes our meal of choice and we have cake and spend time together. Since I stopped reminding people we need to think about upcoming birthdays they've just passed on their own. My sister has her own family and they do stuff. My brother has a wife. My mom does get a full family birthday cause she'll remind everyone we don't love if her we don't. I've never bugged them about my birthday. I don't want to make it a big deal. So I haven't said anything. Not what I want, not type of cake I'd like. I'm just letting it go. Work wife insists I'll be going to her house for her family's birthday thing for her today. We do share a birthday after all. She consulted me on cake, even. I really like this girl. We'll be 27 in a few days. I wonder what kind of year we'll have.
