6 FASTS OF SHAWWAL ✨

The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said:

"Whoever fasts Ramadan then follows it with six days (fasts) of Shawwal, it is as if he fasted a lifetime."

Sahih Muslim 1164 (2758)

The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said:

"Whoever fasts Ramadan, then follows it with six from Shawwal, then that is (equal in reward) to fasting every day."

Jami at-Tirmidhi 759 | Sahih

and as for how you will get the reward, The Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) explained this when he (ﷺ) said: "Whoever fasts for six days after (Eid) al-Fitr has completed the year and whoever does a good deed will have the reward of ten like it."

Sunan Ibn Majah 1715 | Sahih

🗒🖌 Calculation:

30 fasts of Ramadan

1 fast = 10 good deeds so 30 fasts = 300 good deeds.

6 fasts of Shawwal

1 fast = 10 good deeds so 6 fasts = 60 good deeds.

300 + 60 good deeds = 360 (a year approx) good deeds.

NOTE: DO NOT miss this great opportunity In sha Allah.

> Abu Aiyub Al-Ansari (RA) narrated that The Messenger of Allah Said: Whoever fasts during the month of Ramadan and then follows it with six days of Shawwal will be (rewarded) as if he had fasted the entire year.

> Abu Ayub narrated that : The Messenger of Allah said: Whoever fasts Ramadan, then follows it with six from Shawwal, then that is (equal in reward) to fasting everyday.

_Jame At Tirmidhi: 759_

> It was narrated from Abu Ayyub that the Messenger of Allah Salallahu Alaihi Wasallam said Whoever fasts Ramadan then follows it with six days of Shawwal, it is as if he fasted for a lifetime.

_Sunnan ibn majah 1716_

The Virtue of Fasting the Six Days of Shawwal

> Ramadan counts as ten months, and the six days count as two months since each good deed is multiplied tenfold. So it is as though he fasted the entire year.

When to Fast in Shawwal (Consecutive Days or Spread Out)

> The six days do not have specific days assigned to them.Rather, the believer may choose any days throughout the month. If he wishes, he may fast them at the beginning of the month. If he wishes, he may fast them in the middle. If he wishes, he may fast them at the end. And if he wishes, he may spread them out — some at the beginning, some in the middle, and some at the end.

Not an Annual Obligation

> If a person fasts them in some years and leaves them in others, there is no problem because they are voluntary fasts, not obligatory. So if he fasts them in some years and does not in others, or if he fasts some of the six and leaves some, there is no sin upon him, and all praise is due to Allah.
