The Woman

Even though Vandal Savage was supposed to be obsessed with one ancient being, that of Kendra Saunders aka Hawk Girl aka Shayera, there was always another that caught his eye at the most unexpected moments. The first time he saw her, it was when he first killed Kendra and Carter. The woman had dropped her silver tray of food, meant for the prince and his lover, with a loud clatter that made Vandal spin almost as fast as the Flash could run; knowing he had been caught. Normally there would be a cliché where he would be struck by her beauty or something. However, this was not the case. He only looked at her and motioned for her leave. He only let her go knowing that in the years to come she would no longer be around, only he would as would the two lovers in their second lives.

The next time her saw her, he thought his mind was playing tricks on him as the woman that walked past him in the streets of America in 1925 looked incredibly the woman that had caught him just after he murdered the Prince and the Priestess. He took a double take but by the time he had finished, the woman had vanished. He shook his head and carried on to complete his mission; murdering Joe and Edith Boardman.

The year is now 2016. Vandal Savage has now killed many of Shayera and Khufu’s incarnations that he has lost count. However, he has never lost count at how many times he has seen this servant woman from his first life. He’s starting to think that there is more to her than meets the eye. Walking through Central City Park, he spots her. Sitting on a bench, reading a history book. Specifically a book about Ancient Egypt. Before he knows that he’s been staring too long, the woman had looked up to meet his curious gaze. The woman got up and threw the book into the nearest bin as if she was telling him that she doesn’t want to remember what he did to her leaders. She started walking in Savage’s direction. He thought she was going to come up to him and tell him that he will get what’s coming to him but instead she just walked past him without even a glance or nod of acknowledgement. And with that, she disappeared again.

Vandal Savage made a mental note to himself to find out who she was in her former life or if she was just immortal like him. One way or another, he all the time in the world to trace back into his history and uncover the mystery of the woman.

I'm thinking about Wally's prioritizing the safety of the people over personal glory in a truly genuine way like the conscious of the JL he is and falling apart and it's your fault

YES AND LIKE. It goes beyond him just prioritizing their safety, like, in Flash and Substance, he stops to talk to just like. random people, say hello to them, and he knows their names! He asked about something that he knew was going on in the life of someone he talked to. He gives people advice, he paints their fences, he spends his christmas at the Central City orphanage every year. It is made absolutely clear by Wally's actions that he really cares! His genuine compassion and kindness bleeds into the rest of the Justice League (for example, when Bruce goes to threaten the Trickster and Wally stops him to talk to James instead). I'm so emotional just thinking about this.
