We've had a rather unusual visitor to the centre, in the form of a Manx Shearwater! At this time of the year, these beautiful looking birds can be seen migrating from their nesting sites, along the west coast of the UK. First, they will head down to the west coast of Africa, before crossing the Atlantic to spend mid-winter off the coast of Brazil. It seems that this particular shearwater has been blown a little off course. Although found on the ground, luckily, the bird was completely injury-free and was promptly moved in to one of our pond aviaries.
